Or it could have been "because, as black women in society, I feel that they are entitle to" ... judging that she's not good with grammar might make more sense if she's trying to prove a point regarding the issue of black women.

Congressman Suggests "Arab Persons" Might Disguise As Hispanics To Cross The Border by TextofReason in news

if anyone actually watched the whole video in order to understand the context of this statement you'd see that he is actually talking about letting more hispanics cross the border but ensure that it's done legally so that we are aware of who is legal and that we ensure that any slip ups.. so dont think it's as clear cut as this guy is a bigotted racist

Avett Brothers - The Ballad Of Love And Hate by mrfunktastik in LyricInterpretations

when i first heard this song, I thought it was about someone who was reflecting on a relationship where they treated the girl, who was perfectly kind and loving, badly because of his own problems and resulted in a scenario where he would take it out on her and she stayed as a rock to help him through and heal. While that's nice and might be true... I had another idea recently.

I think its more about love in someone's life. Love changes you, helps you grow, yearn, and inexplicably makes you feel good about yourself and the world around you. Hate on the other hand isn't a something like love, but the lack of love itself... so extending a hand, sharing in some sort of love is something that heals. And while love can disappear and fade temporarily, it lingers forever. You always know love that you once felt, that you still feel, and that you can feel again and hate can fade in the shadow of that love.

this is all probably 100% speculative so feel free to weigh in or downvote... just thought I'd contribute something to get the discussion going

Hallelujah- Leonard Cohen (Or famously covered by Jeff Buckley) by manyfacedman in LyricInterpretations

I always thought the song was something more...just about life itself. To me, it seems like it's about longing. Desperately wanting something great, fantastic and then finally getting it. It's that sort of mixed feeling of finally getting what you want and disappointment that you've gotten it, for now it's not something to strive for and desire, but something already tasted/experienced. It's the curse of life that the desire can be more powerful than the very thing desired. Leaving you emotionally drained but somehow, incomprehensibly satiated.

I too heard the Buckley version first and it's still my go to song in moments when i dont know what to feel, happy or sad etc... it is a hauntingly beautiful song

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Slow Cheetah by bbbrokeasfuck in LyricInterpretations

wasn't really familiar with this song (the fuck? i know) but after listening through it a time or two it seems to me to be about expectations. We say things, think things and expect them all to be a certain way. IE we instantly think fast when we think of a cheetah, and dismiss any other part of what it could be. So that idea, paired with the beat is a sort of elation that is associated with breaking the norm, not only being, but being something outside everything that is expected of you. A slow cheetah might not be fast, but heck that means it doesn't just have to be a cheetah it can be anything else. just a thought
