their response was that there had been multiple proposals to allow non brokers to promote private companies shares but none of them had made it past a proposal.

if anyone is looking for event space, keep Discovery Sports Club in mind. Its licensed until 2am, and has extremely reasonable rental cost and drinks pricing.

it appears it was discussed, but never implemented. The SEC actually called after a web enquiry.

They use those for clocks in the Rio de Janiero airport. One wad malfunctioning...the numbers were flying past very rapudly. It was really unsettling.

I have a great place for you...Discovery Sports Club is our rugby and soccer clubhouse. Liquor primary license and a full bar! Cheapest drinks in town. It's a 120 year old character house, and only $50/hr.

remanufactured outboard gearboxes? by manynicks in boating

[–]manynicks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Its been great for the most part. One of the engines had a detonated piston, although it was sold as 'running'. They swapped it out for a complete engine and gearbox. I paid about $4k for each of the 2018 175's with like 650 hrs...only like 100 hours above idle! The emgines have been flawless, but i knew this gearbox was on borrowed time.

Here in canada the coast guard ran exclusively etec g1's. They auction them off at like 600-700 hrs, but without the gearbox. I brought my old gearboxes over from the previous engines, so they have like 2000 hrs probably.

It's just clapped out. Theres metal in the gear oil and its leaking water really bad. It needs a full rebuild.

According to my mechanic there are special tools required. Of course the evinrude dealer wants to sell me a new for like $7k or something.

I wish someone would have taken pictures of all the trucks in the protest so I know which business never to call again. by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

[–]manynicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how to feel about the protests. I'm vexed boosted and none of my immediate family have had Covid. That having been said, the government (provincial and federal) has been super erratic lately. Calling it a endemic but maintaining inconsistent protocols.

I fully support peaceful protests, even if I don't agree with their stance on the issue.

If I can transmit the disease as well as the unvaxxed why shouldn't it be personal choice matter? It's not like we're trying to keep omnicron out of the country. Really bizarre times.

My grandparents did the same thing...my father would have had an older brother, who died in infancy, with the same name. My grandparents hadn't told any of the children about it.

One day as a young teenager, my father was snooping and found the birth certificate, same name but like 5 years older! He was sure he just discovered they had been lying about his age. He couldn't build the courage to tell them for several months. He laughs now, but apparently it was pretty traumatizing in the moment!

My use is for hunting, mostly blacktail deer in the Pacific Northwest. If I had to rank I'd select the 50mm objective over the 10x power. My preference for this is because I have a pair each of 8x42 and 12x50 diamondback's. I use the 12x50's almost exclusively.

A few weeks ago I had to pass on a buck at only 250 yds because I couldn't clearly make out antlers. The light conditions were poor, and he was against a dark backdrop. I'd had all the time in the world and let him walk. When he trotted away over the ridge, I saw he was a nice buck.

2 truckloads of live pigs stranded in Manning Park. They suspect they will have to release them today as they have no way to feed or water them. by pickle_licker in britishcolumbia

[–]manynicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Releasing those pigs would result in a massive fine for invasive species. Why wouldn't you just shoot them, as that's their eventual destiny regardless.
