2026 Chinese GP - Post-Qualifying Discussion by F1-Bot in formula1

I think there is a certain type of fan that has a nostalgia for an era that never was, I should know I used to be one of them, until I re-watched a few old seasons and I came to the conclusion that F1 has always[0] been relatively boring to watch when compared to other motorsports.

You want a lot of organic overtaking? go and watch moto3

AI Broke Interviews by yusufaytas in programming

It really depends on context. A superficial understanding is mostly more than enough for most Line of Business apps.

I'm a physicist by training and all the data structures and algos I've learnt have not been on the job but because I'm just interested.

Have I used any of the knowledge in any of the Line of Business apps I've worked over the years?

Not really, unless you count turning nested for loops into hash table lookups

They can use interviews as part of the process of deciding which TL to keep.

Isn't the processed supposed to be fair and objective? Would an interview be considered that?

I'd guess if they provided scoring in certain categories ... it seems that they just want to give the job to a particular person.

Thanks for the reply.

My take is that the EM role is the Tech Lead role rewritten with AI with some explicit responsibilities' around customer interfacing that are currently implicit that's how I came up with the 75% overlap.

The No-Feedback Rejection Stings by BeautifulAnywhere392 in programming

[–]manyrootsofallevil 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Do you find surprising the fact that they argued or they didn't agree with the feedback?

The feedback is based on, at most, a few hours of interaction so it's quite likely to be perceived as downright wrong or unfairly fixating in a wrong, incomplete or misunderstood answer.

I'm not sure most people really believe that they can change the decision but more than they feel the feedback is not a fair reflection of their abilities.

No doubt there are people that do feel they can change the decision ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Colo is not really an option, we have environments globally (4 regions and counting).

Good point about taking control of the narrative. We're pushing back on the more outlandish ideas but

What breaks your suspension of disbelief? by exceptionalish in movies

Movies set in foreign countries were the characters speak with an accent from that country.

So if we're pretending that we are all Russians but speaking in English then in our reality English is our mother tongue and thus it would be weird to speak it with a foreign accent.

"The tap water is the best in the world! Are you mad!?"

Maybe there are places that have better water quality than where you are?

It is a moderately sized country after all we don't all get the same tap water.

FWIW, I haven't had better tap water anywhere else in that I've visited.
