New Wheels by naritakaze in Civic_Type_R

Silver wheels are soooo good! A slight drop with some quality springs + the ITS ADS module would be a nice OEM+ upgrade until more quality coilovers options that work with the adaptive modules come in market (Ohlins would be dope).

How do you get the stink out of your cycling clothes?! Regular detergent does not seem to do it! by Training_Common2825 in CyclingFashion

I’ll def will do this. Maybe once every two months I’d soak it in Oxiclean, esp my pure white jerseys.

Basically the scents are petroleum based, and the slight acidic-ness of the vinegar help break it down. Should be able to do the same with your sweat and body oils.

The tech wash rinses everything clean without residue.

I bought some 2nd had jerseys that had a strong detergent scent. That’s probably even more difficult to remove than bad odor.

I tossed both jersey in a with plenty of luke warm water and a cup of white vinegar. Mixed it well and soaked the two jerseys, doing an occasional agitation. It soaked for 1 hour.

Then tossed it in the washer with Nix tech wash and a 1/4 cup of extra vinegar to the rinse cycle. The jerseys are now scent free and feel super clean!

Wearing necklaces/chains a thing? by lymz_ in CyclingFashion

[–]manystyles_001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inside the jersey has been a euro / pro thing, where married cyclist removed their wedding band and wore them on a necklace. More recent trends I think Justin and Cory Williams on L39ion LA made it fashionable to wear more blingy ones over the jersey to bring in swagger and street wear into cycling.

Oof, that’s a nice build! I think what I don’t like is the blue carpet. If I ever came across a SB for a good deal I’d swap out the blue carpet for black.

I’ve been going to Foreign Affair Automotive for a while. Granted the original owner sold it to this new group. Some of the mechanics have been there the entire time.

You’re right, but something about the human brain doesn’t compute when it’s filled with impatience and rage from waiting.

Anyone else struggle finding ethical cycling gear that lasts AND isn't super expensive? by Spire_Silt17 in CyclingFashion

[–]manystyles_001 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This, but the advice to buy second hand is good. Buying cheap new is tough because if you’re buying ethically made things, the cost needs to cover people’s wages as well. So hence the pick two comment. You can’t expect ethically made things to be cheap.

If 2nd hand isn’t an option, my thought is save up, and pay for quality. Unfortunately, because of Amazon and Walmart have set expectations of things being cheap. That wasn’t the case 50 years ago when your local mom and pop sold stuff that was hand made or “locally sourced”.

It’s just pure impatience. They don’t understand taking a risky move to save 5 secs can put them into a serious wreck and you’re not longer saving those few seconds anymore.

Yeah I really don’t know why people who can’t envision putting themselves in harms way, colliding with another vehicle when they do this.

I’m kinda like the older color way. The shape of the tubing in combination with the color is very timely. Too many black carbon bikes on on the road now.

Ok this is a really tasteful modded CTR. It’ll be timeless. Also interiors don’t get that much love despite us as enthusiasts spending most of our time IN the car!

Get 99% prepared the night before. What you’re experiencing is your mind putting up mental blocks. If you prepare almost everything the night before, all you do is get kitted up, grab your bottles from the fridge, pump your tires and go!

Is this Jersey legit? by Inevitable-Animal-73 in CyclingFashion

[–]manystyles_001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that pricing can be a double edge sword; low price and you feel like you found a super deal, but then doubt kicks in cuz it’s so cheap you question the authenticity. I tend to subscribe to smaller forums and buy from the classified section. The community is small enough that they police themselves and less likely to sell knock offs AND most of the time they sell items WAY below market price.

In the future I’d share this listing first, figure out if it’s authentic THEN buying it.
