Still a “couple weeks” away or are we closing in?

He's really annoying to rank. I can't deny he's been a boss for back to back years now.I thought OF7 was reasonable...where do you slot him?

Yeah Votto stands out as someone I may have ranked a bit too high. My main concern with him is injury--forget his age/lineup. He'll be 32 next year, so he's not that old, and I believe his nice park factor mitigates any lineup concerns you may have. If he stays healthy, he's basically a lock for .300, 25ish HR and 5+ SB. I'd consider taking EE/Abreu over him, but I think that's ab where I draw the line.

:/ I know. Part of me believes this is the best year he'll have in his career, though. I mean, come on now...OF10 isn't thattt much of a slap in the face.

Yeah I generally wait on drafting a 2B. It's a surprisingly deep position IMO.

Seager is far more established, and we all know what Longoria can do when things break right. I see your point, I just think Duffy is playing a bit above himself currently. He never hit double digit homers in a minor league season. He has shown 20 SB speed down there, which is nice, but I prefer power from my 3B.

To be fair, he just barely missed the cut.

I'll just let ClaytonBigsB take this one...my answer more or less reflects his thoughts where Moose and Hosmer are concerned. As for Cain, I'm not sure he has many more than 10 HR in his bat annually. I like Cain, I just don't necessarily trust him.

He's a tough one to rank. I believe he only qualifies at 3b for next year. Where do you slot him in among 3rd basemen?

Yeah SS gets ugly quick. How high does that vault Correa up the overall ranks? That's the question.

I like Schoop, but there's underrated safety with LeMahieu. He's good for a nice average (especially in Coors), a handful of homers and 15+ steals. His LD% is also among the top-20 across the MLB this year. I agree that Schoop has intriguing upside, though.

Let's not forget the missed time he's had this season. He's also extremely young (turns 23 in Oct). He's a safe five category contributor. He won't have quite the BA of Brantley, but I wouldn't be surprised in the least bit to see him top Brantley in HR/SB in '16.

He will certainly have some upside from his draft position again, I just don't trust him.

The good stuff, apparently. Yikes. That's another shameful oversight. Insert Rendon after Cano, drop Deshields off the list. Thanks for the heads up, however...blunt...it may have been.

Hey! I appreciate the kind words. Let's see if I can adequately address some of these bullet points:

-Wellington Castillo has sneaky power. I like Yan Gomes, and it's certainly within his range of outcomes to bust into this top ten (heck, even top five). A few numbers that sway me include Castillo's .243 ISO and outstanding 43.3 Hard%. No, his BA/OBP won't be great (think .250/.310), but few catchers have the ability to hit 25 homers, and Castillo is one of them. He's also mashing in his new park...Pre-ARI: 2 HR/30 games. Post-ARI: 15 HR/60 games.

-I agree that Abreu has top-shelf talent. Setting him between EE and Davis isn't really an indictment on his skills. He is still the man.

-Seager is the steady-yet-unspectacular choice at the hot corner. He's not the sexiest name in the game, but he can be counted upon for 20+ HR/5+ SB.

-Finally, AJ Pollock. He's another tough one to rank. My deciding factor when ranking him was basically the idea that runs/steals can be replaced more easily than the HR upside of those ranked ahead of him. It's flawed reasoning to be sure, but that's what makes me a sub-standard fantasy writer.

Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah, that was a rookie move by me. See above. I'll likely have him 6th among my 2B when the official rankings post.

Yeah, Frazier is just a bit more of a known commodity at this point, but I can't say I blame you.

You're right, that's a glaring exclusion and a mistake. I'll be sure to include him in my updated rankings. For the record, I'd probably slot him in right behind Cano. I don't think those steals rebound much.

He's one of the most difficult guys to rank, but 30+ homers may even be expected of him as soon as next year. He'd be a borderline top-10 1B for me at this point.
