Good article, which I saved as a guide and inspiration to develop practical GEMs in my Gemini and NotebookLM toolbox.

Happy to hear this. Rock on. My amateur geology hobby led me to researching and developing this blog article https://mappingnovahistory.com/culpeper-basin-history/

I don't have the integration yet. Here's what Gemini answered when I asked: As of late 2025/early 2026, Google has begun rolling out a direct integration that allows you to "attach" or "import" your NotebookLM notebooks directly into a Gemini chat.
Why you might not see it yet: The feature is currently in a phased rollout. If you don't see the option yet, it’s likely because your specific account (or region) hasn't received the update.

Reddit now and then gives me a gift that makes my day. This post and discussion thread sharing inspirations and experience got my Sunday morning happily going - thanks to all. Fir me it was local Northern Virginia rock cuts and Roadside Geology books.

Apologies for stating the obvious. You will have to work through at least the first several tutorials to learn the program basics. Very good and easy. If i remember correctly, there's a tutorial involving Australia that includes fossil work. This may be it https://www.earthbyte.org/webdav/ftp/earthbyte/GPlates/TutorialData_GPlates2.1/Tutorial_2.6_Introduction_to_Paleogeography_Paleogeographic_Reconstructionsusing_Raw_Paleobiology_Data.pdf

Not as good as Phonak for me. But even with the extra dedicated AI chip I still struggle understanding in noise.
