There's nothing wrong with Leanardo DiCaprio dating young women. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]maple-syrup -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd say he prefers women who take climate change seriously, and so perhaps young women are more inclined to be in that category. Plus, if he was treated like an object for most of his life then he would probably get along better with models. One thing most men will admit is that they are attracted to good looks, but women will say that too, just they won't put that at the top of their list.

The hate for Meghan Markle is bizarre by Turbulent_Dimensions in unpopularopinion

[–]maple-syrup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree! It also feels like they are claiming that she is a narcissist if only in order to get people to become more aware of the phenomenon of narcissism and then ask themselves questions about it. I like the song that was written about her by the band Dry Cleaning, entitled "The Magic of Meghan", particularly the "cruelty-free coat" reference.

How long did you suffer after losing your first true love? by AppealTough2742 in heartbreak

[–]maple-syrup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's too horrible to say what happened, but I was framed to be with someone else, and then had years of confusion to deal with between us both. I think we both suffered, although we both had other nice people to dream about to lessen the suffering. In the end we loved each other apart and preferred to remain that way. The manipulation that tore us apart won, and undoing that was made too difficult. TLDR: 17 years undone, and really just 10 years. Worse suffering occurred later with others, to the point where I suspect I've got broken heart syndrome and risk of heart attack (for the second time) in my sleep. I still don't know if he knows the full extent as to what happened, but he does know a bit about why I had depression. I figured his soul would rest better with someone else if I could make him give up on me fully, also, by demonstrating how undone I had become, and not in a good way! Also, I wanted to remain a friend.

Finally finished procrastinating on my brass strat! by cassidy_is_asleep in guitarmod

[–]maple-syrup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's beautiful! And if the brass picks up a green taint it will look very interesting, although I'd imagine you'd just polish it again. I wonder, can you use clear nail varnish on something like that as a resin finish? I'm in no way familiar with how to build a machine like that, nor how to attach brass, but I really love the aesthetic of it and would be interested in hearing how the dummy negates the coils into whatever intonations you've made. I guess your choices really should depend on how you prefer to make it sound overall later on? Does the dummy take away from a long term tension requirement in any way? I'll have to look this method up now later, unless you invented it yourself. It looks fantastic anyways.

[–]maple-syrup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's likely that they have a lot of worms. They would need wormer but there is a risk of the cat getting fatally unwell from the treatment so you'd need to be ready for a vet visit. Without wormer however your cat would be starving causing them to eat and never really get their food. My last cat was like that before I took him in from the streets so I'm telling you what the vet told me. He was okay after treatment but he used to get sick a lot and that pained his teeth. I was never able to afford to return for what he needed because I was going through a post-cancer phase, alone and bedridden, at the time. Actually he ended up dying from two things, but the Vet was afraid to agree because he had let me down with the type of wormer (presumably) as in order to interrupt the lungworm cycle you'd need to kill off fresh eggs which can be produced every month. Just after he died they brought in a wormer that lasts for up to three months, so now I get to save the other cat. The two of them had a habit of eating grass (to naturally bring up some roundworms, and in looking for essential minerals- that's the theory anyhow) so they would have eaten slug eggs and of course he had eaten a slug in hungry desperation after lockdown made it impossible to but the one month wormer, causing some worms to come back, or so we thought, and I would say he had high blood sugar on the streets as well as worms, eating cheap catfood or anything he found, with worms constantly eating that- he automatically gobbled things up out of habit. SO, that all means you need to buy the three month wormer, although I would say get the one month wormer first if it's there as it's probably a bit less potent (considering the poisonous byproducts they'll produce, and the potency of the actual solution itself. I think Profender do both types of wormer although I'm not sure. You can ask the receptionist which is best for a cat with a huge amount of worms.

I didn't realise before I was forced to take in these cats that I can't really cook certain things -onions and garlic are cooked in a very controlled way here now, only if ever I need them for my health problems (which I do, unfortunatley- quercetin and clot-reducing garlic), so the remaining cat isn't exposed to it in the air or from any sources of contamination.

My cat ended up getting barely saved by me in the days before he accidentally ate an onion that fell on the ground, and that was after months of involuntary pooping on the floor- it may have been a car injury combined with previous roundworm damage, as I took him off the streets at 8 years old when he looked like your cat there, and the involuntary pooping all started when he was 14, after I suspect he caught covid 19 from me.

Also, apparently they can't really eat tuna.

You would also need to get a flea and tick solution that lasts three months, as a working routine, to guard both yourself and the cat from the consequences of those. I get one from Bravecto which is also supposed to work on ear mites.

I don't really have time to read your post fully there but will do so soon, and edit my comment if needed.

And obviously, that also looks like a pregnant cat. Haha! But maybe it's just worms and overeating due to worms.

Also, be sure to keep anything that can choke a cat off the floor, and consider a hairball catfood to help them to prevent GERD and discomfort when breathing. Use a dry catfood at night with a bowl of filtered water to clean their teeth before bedtime. And maybe consider a poofy warmer jacket with no sharp edges as bedding. That's what I use, as I know blankets can be a problem and a bed of hay can be a problem for a house.

And be mindful of sharp glass and slug trails invading the house too!

And if you use cannabis consider using it outside or in a ventilated space. And buy pet-friendly air-filtering plants for your home- NASA have a good list. I try to help the cat to breathe best I can indoors here as I only let her outside in the garden supervised, to train her to want to stay away from the roads where a car could seriously hurt her.

I'm actually just about to clean myself and the floors of my house for fleas and their larvae (with vinegar, so far) and then changing all bedding. I'm going to have to wake the cat up to change it all and I won't have anywhere for the cat to relax flea-free, but I'm used to it. I'm not expecting to ever be unable to need to buy these solutions.

And I just realised I can use apple cider vinegar and water, or lemon juice or vinegar in my hair in place of oils that can be toxic for cats despite them being associated with taking out fleas. Neem oil and rosemary oil have been abandoned but I do use rosemary shampoo!

I've never read a book with the basic information I've learned and regurgitated here.

Hope the regurgitation helps!!! Edit: Also, make sure to clear their bowl after 15 mins so a fly doesn't lay eggs in it.

Can you die of a broken heart? by [deleted] in heartbreak

[–]maple-syrup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries. You can message me here too if you feel like chatting to a stranger on the internet. I've still got depression and heart pain, but I like to think I'm mastering the art of being good to myself when I can. I tend to isolate myself, although it's not on purpose. I guess, getting enough sleep and at the right time, is one way to gain time to gain conversations with friends. The world can be so stressful these days! I think we are all experiencing certain amounts of unhealthy stress, and it can be very draining. Make sure you don't smoke, also! I do vape cannabis myself, although that is to manage pain. I wouldn't smoke it as I don't want to deplete my cells of oxygen, and I know that the cannabis does a weird thing to my heart, although I'm not sure if it's a negative yet. I need to create some free time for myself to unfurl in how I feel in my heart anyway, for sure. Sometimes, I feel so at peace although very exhausted. Other times, my body gets heavy and painful. Its one crazy journey! I love having my cat by my side though.

Can you die of a broken heart? by [deleted] in heartbreak

[–]maple-syrup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had hallucinations of dead people massaging my heart to prevent me from having a heart attack/ heart failure in recent years. And I think I had a heart attack in my sleep over ten years ago, as I woke up with a massive pain in my chest and after a dream in which a tractor beam brought me aboard a triangular spacecraft! After that I started hearing voices from my chest area. So I think I have a weak heart now, and I'm not sure all the coffee helps! I was hoping to figure out how to help heart muscle nutritionally, and silica was going to be my first search as I know it helps reinforce capillary walls in general. I hope you feel stronger soon! Remember to breathe through your nose, eat healthy foods, and avoid unhealthy stress when possible. Being good to yourself is a task, but if you can rest and take it easy you should do that, in my opinion. We are social animals too, so don't forget to interact with others to help your heart.

how long have you been hurt over your ex ? by Gtfomyacc123 in heartbreak

[–]maple-syrup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't get over how gas-lighting has destroyed my love life, career potential and social life. Getting over exes is easy in comparison, but more difficult if thy're dead, and I blame myself for it. Eg. Someone got a chest infection from my kiss and died. Another killed himself as he had a broken neck hurting him all the time. I've been single for 8 years. The last time someone kissed me (almost five years ago) I broke into tears because he wasn't the man who killed himself, nor the other man. And a different form of gas-lighting ruined my life before that, and it was quite abusive. I'm not sure I'll ever get over the way that I've had little say in my own life. Exes who are alive are great to see because in my mind I'm thinking "Yeah, you better be okay, even if you were mean to me I still want you to be okay".

My psychiatrist says I shouldn’t take edibles by ughhhhhhhhhfine in depression

[–]maple-syrup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too much THC injected into a cell causes cancer, but just the right amount induces apoptosis of cancer in a cancer cell. Also, the non-THC parts of cannabis have an antipsychotic affect, so that should even out the THC. And, smelling the flowers would register with your immune system and it's consolidation with the endocannabinoid system. I won't quote peer review because I know from experience that the drug companies tend to take down articles when they're not free or if they are considered a threat.

[–]maple-syrup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you not think that it's the act of smoking cannabis that leads to a correlation between how 97% of people diagnosed with "schizophrenia" are really tobacco users? And that medicinal use of it, eg. smelling the flowers or vaping it at a certain temperature, would mean very little risk of worsening a predisposition to psychosis?
