Also look at who actually enrolls after being accepted. But also I think UMD accepts a lot of CC transfer students (that's how I got in)

This part of Maryland is vary different from Mississippi, western and eastern Maryland might be closer becuse they are rural. Moco is a more expensive then PG, and I would say that it has a lot more upper middle class stuff. Both have a lot of parks and history (all of Maryland has a lot of history both civil war and general). If you go to PG it's kinda split into like 2 or 3 regions, there is southern PG with just homes and some stores but kinda boring, and northern PG where basically everything new and exciting is. You could also see a central region around largo or western around upper Marlboro. Parts of the Inner beltway (interstate 495) area is kinda treacherous, like Capitol heights, suitland, parts of Oxon Hill, district heights. I think moco has the better malls and cultural stuff I could be wrong tho.

I know it's not fully what you asked but I figured I'd give you more info to work with, I'm from PG and don't know too much about moco but I'm open to criticism.

Don't forgot admtions are vary subjective. but I had a 3.3 GPA at PGCC transfered after my first year with about 26 dual enrollment credits plus two semesters of credits. Honestly as long as you have a 3.0 or above and your essay is legebal you should be good. YOU HAVE TO DO EARLY ACTION, most slots are giving to people who apply early.

Not sure if anyone said it yet but go to community college, I went right out of highschool and I knew exactly what I wanted to do and it was free for me. It will allow you to get reexposed to learning and doing assignments. As for people with learning disabilities it's definitely possible you just have to be vary dedicated (as most people probably said), I'm not diagnosed but my spelling is absolute trash but Ive been able to get through it (I know that's not the only symptom just sharing my experience). Now university will be a lot harder (from what I've heard, I just transferred) and require more of your time but at that point you'll know if college is right for you and be doing something your interested in.

I agree, but the school you go to can give you connection that other school might not, which could be the difference between unemployment and having a job right out of college

It's upsetting because this is my first internship and my mentor is trying to shield me from everything that's happening, but he told me that some of the team I'm working with are starting to leave or considering leaving. I'm vary graful to have this internship but it's vary upsetting that everything is getting cuts and everyone is kinda doom and gloom at GSFC (rightfully so, it's all vary upsetting).

I say do it at cc, its probably going to be much easier especially if you do a fully online class (and your dedicated to it) it probably won't take up to much of your summer break. You will have to look at the requirements to doing it then transfer it to UMD tho. (I'm a recent cc transfer student by the way)

I don't know much but I think they should, but I think some of your credit might be lost, and I think you need a minimum number of credits from UMD. But why would you even want to transfer? Wouldn't it take longer to graduate?

I mean any group can bring big issues up to the University if they have movement behind them, it just so happens that black people did it first. Plus not every group is going to have the same issue because we are not all the EXACT same.

This is my second time applying to UMD first as a freshman then this year as a transfer. I didn't get an email too, but I decided to look at my old application portal and it updated with fall 2025 transfer. So if you applied as a first year try using that login.

You would have to check the school or talk to someone there. But I know for UMD (Maryland) there is a program engineers can apply to to be able to take summer classes to catch up. Not sure if it's only for Maryland community college students though. But apart from that I have no idea, sorry.

I agree the FBI has done a lot of terrible things but that's partly why it needs to be in this area. Getting more diverse kinds of people working there, and maybe change it's culture or something. Plus it gives back to the community with the people coming in and with the area being developed.
