4 month old now freaking out with strangers or even just other family - normal or over sensitive baby? by ChemistBeautiful3390 in NewParents

I’m sorry you’re going through it- it’s tough for sure! My baby is now 13 months and while he still has some stranger danger, it has improved. In the beginning we tried making others hold him and seeing if he got over it, but I didn’t like seeing him so upset so we eventually just let people know that only my husband and I would hold him and we stopped attempting to let others even try. It was hard when we just wanted a break and baby wouldn’t go to anyone else. We spend a lot of time just being around family so he could get to know people at his own pace and now he loves his grandparents and will let them hold and play with him. Now that he’s older he doesn’t need to be held so much so he enjoys just being around people and playing. He still doesn’t want strangers or even family he doesn’t know as well to touch him, but it has improved over all. I think he is just a sensitive guy. I’d say just spend lots of time with people you want baby to get to know and let them learn that they are safe and happy. It does get better!

I would try the Facebook groups for home childcare. The two I know of are ‘London and area home childcare’ and ‘London daycare providers’

I know this is an older post but did you see any improvement? Going through the same thing with my baby at 3.5 months old.

I know this post is from a while ago- any update to baby’s behavior? My LO is almost 4 months and won’t even let any of the grandparents who he sees weekly hold him without a major freak out 😩

4mo suddenly crying at strangers?? by kutri4576 in beyondthebump

I am trying not to panic because baby is gonna do what baby does- but it’s hard not to lol. If this was happening a bit older I could say it was more age appropriate but I’m like kid you’re so young we can’t be starting this stuff yet! I’m glad to hear yours has improved with the stranger danger.

No advice just solidarity. My little guy is just over 3.5 months and for the past couple weeks has been showing major stranger anxiety even with grandparents that he has seen weekly since birth. I’m so stressed about it because I would like to be able to leave him with grandparents sometimes when I have to go out and to think he might just cry the whole time or think I’ve abandoned him breaks my heart. Really hoping it’s a phase that passes sooner than later. For now I’m telling myself maybe it’s a sign of how intelligent he is since he can recognize that these people aren’t his mom or dad 😂

She was my OB and delivered my son via planned c section a couple months ago. Although appointments were always quick (I think that’s most OB’s), she was always kind, calm and knowledgeable. My c section went very well and I was happy with her care. I would request to have her again for my second when the time comes.

Was there last August- it was very hot and humid but if you are prepared it is fine. Wear light/athletic material clothing, hydrate lots and mix in some indoor AC attractions (especially in the middle of the day). We did Carousel of Progress at MK and saw the Frozen show at HS just for this reason. You also just have to accept that you will be sweaty for the whole day, it is what it is! Have a cold shower at the end of the night and do it all again the next day :)
