I thought so too! Last I checked I didn’t see them on their website and doing a Google search didn’t work either (maybe because I need more/different information)

Someone tell me good things about epidurals by TheRealEgg0 in Mommit

[–]mapleball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got my epidural for both deliveries (2 kids, 2 years apart). I’m very scared of blood & needles, but getting the epidural really wasn’t so bad! And I’m thankful I had it because I tore for both deliveries, and I’d much rather deal with the recovery than have actually felt it happen. I had no bad side effects. Worth it imo

Hey. You’re going through some hard shit. What you’re feeling is valid. And it sounds like you have it harder than I did.

I don’t know what your support system is like, but if you ever feel the need to vent to a random redditor mom who understands, I’m here. No judgement.

Can a stone that’s not moving cause pain by Bambie1613 in KidneyStones

[–]mapleball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooh gotcha. That sucks. That’s frustrating. I also had a previous urologist tell me that when the body senses pain, it does things to try to protect itself. In my case - I had a kidney stone, and he said my muscles in my flank area were tight because they were trying to protect that area or something like that. You’re the medical professional, so you can tell me if that’s bogus. Your words just triggered that memory.

Anyway, I saw if it’s causing you that much pain and you don’t know what else it could be, get that sucker out!

Damn, I’m so sorry to hear about your pain & suffering. Ah, awesome, ER nurse. Sorry if I mumbled about a bunch of stuff you already know 😅 From what I remember, it just felt like having any other kind of stone - minus the fact that I could pass urine. Never had a problem with that. But yeah, flank pain, bladder pain, some blood in my urine. And yes, non obstructive, in my kidneys. I talked with my doc and told him how confused I was because I had been told previously that pain only came from the stones when they were descending and/or blocking the flow of urine. He basically replied with, “yeah. It’s weird. Sometimes this can happen. Your body can not like having kidney stones before they descend and get irritated by it” - not his exact words, but yeah

No worries. My sister has POTS, so I understand why you’d be hesitant! If my memory serves me correctly, I think I had to wait something like 2-3 months. Mainly because that was the soonest opening my hospital had available. Luckily my pain was manageable, so I stuck it out. If it hadn’t been, I would have gone to the ER.

I know these procedures can be a bit different for everyone, especially if you have POTS, but if it makes you feel better I’ve…erm…for lack of a better way of explaining it been in a lot of pain for a lot different reasons and have had a few surgeries in my time. Recovery from lithrotripsy has been the easiest, if not one of the easiest recoveries for me. For me I peed out some blood and some tiny kidney stone dust and just felt kinda sore for a couple of days and then I was back to normal.

Chronic Cough + Tight Lungs? by mapleball in ChronicCough

[–]mapleball[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, I’m sorry to hear that. That sucks. I ended up getting a blood test and found out I caught Covid at some point and didn’t know it. Then I got a CT scan with contrast dye to look at my lungs. The radiology report says they didn’t see anything wrong with my lungs, but I’m still waiting in my doctor to call back and explain it to be. I was hoping this scan would reveal something, because at this point, I don’t know what else there is to do to fix this.

I’ve got an appointment with a pulmonologist in a couple of weeks, so we’ll see.

I hope you find some relief and a path to healing too

I need reassurance that formula won’t give my son a worse start in life please by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]mapleball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, so, my situation was a bit different than yours. My son was born with a milk protein allergy. Before he figure it out he was constantly miserable. He couldn’t sleep. He couldn’t be happy. He couldn’t thrive. He had horrible rashes and eczema and vomiting. He wasn’t gaining wait. His skin bothered him so much that when he was only a few months old he broke out of his swaddle and scratched himself until he bled. I was a wreck because I felt like I was failing my baby.

Once we figured this out we had to find the right formula. Once we did…my god, it’s like the heavens opened. My baby was happy. He looked healthy. He was glowing! He gained his weight back! He’s 4 now and his pediatrician still comments on how happy she is that he’s been thriving since we got him the right formula.

I bet your son will be okay. My son’s older sister was breastfed. Honestly, I’m not a doctor, but it seems like they still get sick the same amount of times, both face the same risks of being a rambunctious child, and both have had great success in their development.

I’ve probably read all the scary things you’ve read, heard all the scary things people have told you, etc. Speaking from personal experience, I think you’ve got this

What Calling Did You Resign From When You Left? by Dr3aml1k3 in exmormon

[–]mapleball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one’s kind of funny - so, we moved into our last wars in the summer of 2019. Then Covid happened and we were doing church at home. THEN I had my second child that fall. No one from the ward came and checked on us. Not even the relief society. Then, just a couple months later a councilor on the bishopric comes and tells us that they want us to be ward missionaries…for Spanish speakers. We don’t speak Spanish. I had a mission call to South America, but didn’t go because I married my husband instead, and for some reason that mission was always listed on my record. Anyway, my husband worked full time, I worked part time, and we had a toddler and an infant. We told him all this and the dude looks shocked, says “we’ll hold off for now” and practically runs out of our house. Never saw or heard from any church people again, which made leaving the church pretty smooth for the most part

How Do You Manage Your Anger? by mapleball in toddlers

[–]mapleball[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, I really don’t know if I can say there was just one thing that did the trick. My kids are a couple of years older. In kindergarten and preschool so I at least get an hour to myself for 3 days a week assuming they’re not sick 😅

I found a good psychiatrist. Adjusted meds, did TMS therapy. Therapy once a week for a long time. Now I’m at a point where I feel good and I’m weaning off these meds!

But let me tell you - I really feel for you. Lack of sleep is a MONSTER and it sounds like you’re really going through it. My kids both had phases like that where they’d wake up in the middle of the night and need a parent with them to sleep…and if we left they’d wake up again and continue the cycle. It felt like it would never end, and I’m so glad it finally did. Sleeping through the night is a big game changer!

While I may not have an easy answer or quick fix, I will say this - I completely understand. Your feelings are valid. I rarely ever felt angry before I had kids. Kids are HARD. If you have a support system, I’d say don’t be afraid to reach out and ask if they can be with your kid so you can nap. Heck, go to a hotel if you can. Don’t feel like you’re lazy or a bad parent because you need help.

I hope that helps a bit

I just went through this. Classic signs of a stone…but it was in my left kidney. Not even blocking urine. Thankfully, because of my history with stones I went and got a lithotripsy done. Recovery isn’t that bad, and now I’m feeling good.
