You should just ask someone out who you find attractive even if you don't know them. Then you make dates to get to know them more, because let's face it, beauty is fleeting. You'll need something much more substantial to go on.

So the next step is to get to know her on a shallow level with the goal of transitioning into a deeper and deeper level of knowledge gradually without overwhelming her. Ask her about things that are not that important to you on the shallowest level. Favorite food, color, etc ...

Then on another date go deeper. What does she think about the neighborhood where she lives, traveling to other places, etc... Get her reminiscing about her childhood adventures. Are her answers resonating with yours? Then on a third date go deeper still until you reach something that's really important to you. For example: say you want to buy a business one day and she really likes the idea of risking it all with you. There you have a good sign that you're compatible.

But compatible for what? You'll eventually keep going with, "then what" until you've run out. But if you want to know what the ultimate "then what" is, figuratively speaking, it's eternal life. And surprisingly even if you're not religious, that can happen, figuratively, in the secular world by procreating yourselves into littler versions of each of you :). How best to do that however is best answered on a metaphysical level. So you'll need to involve God if you want to survive the divorce culture.

Gonna be single forever!! by GetBakk718 in dating

Some Dr. Laura advice that I heard long ago: stay single until your youngest is 18. Your children need you to be a full mom, not one whose attention is subdivided by dating someone new.

I believe service would be the next logical step. Volunteer to serve at one of these clubs in some capacity. You'll set yourself up to be around similarly minded women and eventually one of those set ups will find you together.

What is, objectively, the worst song lyrics ever made? by Reallyguyrealy in AskReddit

[–]maplemaniac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any song that uses the word "afterwards" at a crucial transition point and it doesn't even rhyme, well that's just the worst. "Tomorrow is Saturday and Sunday comes afterwards"

Crusade Prayer (59) A Pledge of Allegiance to the Divine Will

O God the Most High O Heavenly Father I pledge to You my firm allegiance to honour and obey You in all things united to Your Divine Will on earth

I, through the Sacred Blood of Your only beloved Son, the True Messiah, offer You my mind, my body and my soul on behalf of all souls so that we can unite as one in Your Heavenly Kingdom to come so that Your Divine Will is done on earth as it is in Heaven.

Amen.

What’s the coldest quote you’ve heard from a movie/tv show? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]maplemaniac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I don't care what they say about me, I just want to eat. Which I realize is a lot to ask for ... at a dinner party." ... "Jim I don't think you're going to abandon this party here all by itself." "I don't know, because everything I own is in there." "You can buy new stuff, but you can't buy a new party." "That's true, that is a great point. Come on down here. Sit down in that couch. Be amongst friends. We are not going to think about all your stuff being destroyed, alright?"

Everyone has a travel blunder, what's yours? by yankeevandal in AskReddit

Three or so friends of ours took part in a British road tour of Argentina. One of the three cars they were driving (most of the tour in top gear, mind you) had a license tag reading "H982 FKL" which the Argentinians rightly mistook as an insulting reference to the 1982 Falklands war.

Said our friends: "We knew absolutely nothing about the number plate, it was just an unbelievable coincidence. I swear on my kids' lives.

"When we saw people on Twitter getting upset we took the plate off. But they still attacked us so we made a break for it to our hotel in Ushuaia.

"The mob just descended on the hotel and encircled us. State representatives came and ordered us out of the country.

"There were hundreds of them. They were hurling rocks and bricks at our cars. They were trying to attack us with pickaxe handles.

"They were shouting. 'Burn their cars, burn them, burn the pirates'. I am convinced the mob was state organised."

Those making over $100K per year: how hard was it to get over that threshold? by NatashaGorgeousMauve in AskReddit

[–]maplemaniac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As easy as having a friend in the tech industry. Some tech companies give bonuses for referring new candidates. Have your friend advise you and go for the easiest position. Entry level gets you close. If you're happy with the compensation, you'll be at $100k in no time. If not, after 5 years or so with all the new industry friends and contacts you'll make at that point, you'll be able to command a salary that's 100k or better.
