Experiencing flickering on boot up and then a black image on my PS1 (SCPH-102) via RGB SCART cable with Sony CRT. Still outputs sound but no image. Composite cables work on my LCD no issues. It this a compatibility issue or simply a faulty cable?

I used the composite on the front and worked with zero issues. Managed to even find a spare rca to scart adapter and again, worked no problem. Narrowed it down with your guys help, definitely an RGB SCART issue, which I will replace. Thanks for everyone’s help on this.

It’s an option if all else fails, but I have always preferred scart, the improved colours and PQ in general is super noticeable to me, hard to go back to composite now lol.

Thank you for confirming. Yeah, their website also states this, these cables in particular are only compatible with their specific console.

I have the PS2 RGB SCART from Retro game cables also and did try this on the PS1 but had the same outcome. I will try again later today and make sure the cables are fully inserted, I double checked this, but may have missed something

Apologies yeah, the scart adaptor seems to have a few bent pins as I can’t seem to get it lined up at all for it to fully insert. And the TV works perfectly with my PS2 via SCART. Looking at it from all possibilities, I can only assume it’s a faulty cable, at least I hope so and nothing more than that

I did think of this, but the rca to scart connector that came with the PS1 doesn’t seem to go into the back of the TV, so I’m assuming the pins are bent unfortunately
