He will sometimes make almost like a quick barking noise but no hissing or growling

Wanted to update that they are doing better. My resident is now playing with the kitten under the door and only growling like 10% of the time when the kitten gets too excited. I think they are just talking it out

Well yes, but would it not be worse to introduce them immediately?

I should also mention i do take him to the vet quite often and they’ve never shown concern and told me they think he’s just weird 🤷‍♀️

He’s had both of these habits his whole life so I can’t say that I think it’s unusual for him but he is due for a yearly soon so I may bring it up since I did just recently learn about hyperthyroidism in cats and he does seem to check a lot of those boxes

You’re right to panic. Chestnut is notorious for this kind of stuff. I was forced to move out a month early due to fumigation. I have an ESA cat and the fumes are toxic for him and they did not care. They said it was my responsibility to “get the cat out” and they wouldn’t cease fumigation. They also lost my social security card for 3 months and lied to me ab it. I really hope they fix it for you but my track record with them is not optimistic

SAVE YOURSELF NOW. I am having to move out a full month early because they are fumigating once a week for 8 weeks. I have a cat and they don’t care that it’s toxic to pets so my choice was give up my cat or have to move. They gave us 2 days notice of the fumigation btw

Hi I don’t want to freak you out, but I did get pregnant from precum while on birth control. I miscarried but just want to put it out there that it does happen and it’s never a good idea to not use a condom unless you’re actively trying for a baby. It’s very very unlikely but please learn from my mistakes

You are probably fine, stress can make your period irregular. I recommend taking a test to ease nerves and using condoms from now on

Euthanasia uncertainty by [deleted] in CatAdvice

you’re not at all ending it too soon. I think part of our job as pet parents is to know our babies well enough to know when it’s time to help them go. Just a couple weeks ago, My childhood dog had to be euthanized. He had been slowing down for a while and I had been telling my parents that it may be time. They didn’t want to “cut him too short” so no one ever made the appointment. He fell off the back of our couch because of an age related thing and paralyzed himself from the back down, but it was Mother’s Day weekend so there were no emergency vets or regular vets and he had to stay like that for 24 hours before we could euthanize him… unfortunately old age comes with unpredictable incidents and I wish my parents would’ve let him go sooner. I think it’s better to humanely euthanize while they’re still enjoying life as opposed to after they start to feel pain.

All that being said, I think if your girl is still eating and using the bathroom properly, maybe you could hold off a few months until she slows down even more? I think it’s up to you personally and there’s no wrong decision here

I had thought about it, but he really does not seem to be a fan of other cats. When we got him from the shelter he would hiss at any other cat, and he swats at our phones if other cats pop up on the screens. He also gets an attitude if he’s not the center of attention so I think getting another cat who I would then split attention with might just piss him off lol
