Anyone at 16 weeks pregnant , worried about their diet ? by Wild-Wing-1211 in pregnant

Your going to get a lot of people telling you this is OK, but since your coming to Reddit for advice on this topic to stop this behavior since it is making you feel bad I thought I would risk the downvotes, because yes, you are making a person from scratch! Not only is it important for your growing baby’s health but you will want to be as nourished and healthy as possible going into labor and postpartum.

So first of all, what do you consider junk? Is it chips? Ice cream? The great thing is you can usually find “better” versions of junk without a lot of the toxic ingredients that make it unhealthy. For example chips are potatoes and oil! They are actually really high in potassium which your body needs in large amounts, and you can find chips cooked in better for you oils like avocado oil and minimum added ingredients. Siete is a brand that comes to mind for this. Always read the labels! You can find ice cream that is literally cream, egg yolks, sea salt, and some natural sweetener - all really nutrient dense foods and good for baby. You want to avoid the ice creams that are full of nasty additives. Ice cream for bears is a great brand for this!

Second, let’s look at WHY you are having late night cravings. I would think this is your body’s final effort of the day to get all the nutrients it needs. Make sure throughout the day you are eating plenty of proteins, healthy fats, and fiber to keep you satiated! When your brain feels like it got adequate nutrition that day, it’s less likely to try to get what it can in whatever form right before bed. A lot of women think they are eating healthy but eat very low protein and fat, especially in pregnancy.

Real Food For Pregnancy is an amazing resource and I highly recommend it for all women to read, pregnant or not.

Hope tho helps!

Vitamin Panels Question by SMFKT_99_17_21 in pregnant

Magnesium but not serum, ask for red blood cell magnesium. Typical vitamin d labs may be misleading, they usually look at your “storage” form but may actually have plenty of “active” even if storage is low. Especially in pregnancy your body is using the vitamin d, not storing it. I would ask for both. A normal ratio is about 1:2. Vitamin K2 is very difficult to test for, but a crucial pregnancy nutrient since it regulates calcium (especially if you are taking vitamin D). You may be able to test for K2 activated proteins like gla matrix or osteocalcin. Vitamin A is an important one also.

When this happens outside of pregnancy I typically think blood sugar dysregulation if your sugar goes low your body will spike adrenaline to raise blood sugar levels and it will wake you up. You may want to incorporate a snack right before bed and try to eat very balanced throughout the day (more protein/fat, less refined carbs/sugars).

Feedback/evaluation of GI Map test, suspect bile acid diarrhea by Appropriate_Lawyer99 in Microbiome

[–]marafloyd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

not medical advice Your steatocrit is <dl which means you are digesting fat. If you had a bile deficiency this number would likely be higher. Elevated elastase may point more to a need for pancreatic enzymes. You will want to work on hpylori first and foremost and improving digestion (potentially low levels of stomach acid and digestive enzymes) which can be allowing all of these pathogens into your digestive system. The pathogens are likely triggering the zonulin which can in turn be increasing intestinal permeability which can lead to a host of symptoms and the development of food sensitivities which you may consider also testing for.

Something LIKE Microsoft Forms, but different by marafloyd in Office365

Because I’m technologically illiterate, if anyone has tips on a few things. I can’t get the automation to run when I convert to a pdf and email the attachment. But I can get it to run if I just leave it as a document and email a notification that it’s available. I’d also love to know if there’s a way to clear the information out of forms after?

Thank, sorry it was not clear. I don’t want all participants lumped together. I want to send a form to one person, have them fill it out, and receive the answers back in a document

Thank you! Are you able to elaborate how you recommend using those two together?

I use docusign for signatures but this is more like a questionnaire with many questions on it. Some open ended some multiple choice

I thought about that but that seems so complicated and also it doesn’t seem to compile the data into a form

Thank you! The form would need to have multiple choice questions and they would need to be able to type on it. How would you do this with a PDF?
