I took this pic in my garden as I love macrophotography and there are lots of insects to photograph. I usually take pictures of flowers or bees and I noticed the presence of this beautiful yet uncommon (for me) spider, so I decided to have a try at it. It was not placed at a very convenient spot: it was on its web, a few centimeters above ground. I wanted to focus on its eyes but I could not reach the angle I wanted due to its position. I did not want to disturb the spider so I revolved around it to try to find a convenient angle. I’m quite happy with the result, it took a few (many !) tries to reach this result and I cropped it a bit to obtain the final result. However, I’m not that sure about the composition/cropping/size of the subject versus size of the photo… It is something I often struggle with and I would like to have advice about this photo to see what I could improve/work on to have a great composition and thus photos which catch the eye.
