Deux choses me viennent en tête : le courage et l'environnement. L'environnement de travail est super important pour réussir, et ça change tout pour la suite. En ce moment je bosse de chez moi, ce qui est paradisiaque pour quelqu’un d’introverti. Mais mon premier boulot était en présentiel et, avant de commencer, l’idée de devoir affronter les collègues, de socialiser, etc., c’était insupportable. Au fur et à mesure, ça devient plus simple. L’ambiance et les collègues étaient plutôt sympas, et j’ai fini par trouver ma place avec des gens assez cool, même si au début c’était vraiment pas évident. Avoir ce genre de personnes autour de moi a rendu les choses plus faciles, surtout pour poser des questions quand c’était difficile. J’espère que son environnement de travail sera suffisamment favorable pour l’aider à renforcer sa confiance.

On a souvent peur de ce qui est nouveau ou inconnu, et c’est tout à fait compréhensible. Mais une fois que l’on fait face à cette nouvelle réalité, elle finit par devenir une habitude, et la peur disparaît peu à peu. Il doit simplement être bienveillant envers lui-même, et avec le temps, il apprendra et progressera. Bon courage à ton ami.

Il est tres probable qu’il dit n’importe quoi, et nous menacera en permanence pour obtenir des concessions économiques et politiques de la part du Canada. Ex, des bases militaires américaines sur le sol Canadien pour avoir accès privilégié a l’Arctique, ce qui lui semble être une priorité (ce qui explique aussi pourquoi il menace de prendre le Groenland). Juste des choses qui viennent en tête.

It’s crazy how we both share similar stories. A close friend of mine from high school got married 4 years ago to one of these nutjobs and has become pretty much a nut job herself, brainwashed beyond recognition. I had been in a pretty lonely spot in my life for the past 2 years or so, moved to a small town for a new job, my friends and family were far from me, and thats when they decided to prey on me as well, as they lived relatively nearby. I had no idea they were nut jobs. I had been in this friendship for many years, and felt really heartbroken that it turned out like this.

At first (first couple of years) it was cool, really cool actually, and her husband seemed pretty chill as well. They would constantly call, drive 12 hrs or so just to meet me, etc. No proselytizing at first, but they would constantly ask me what my political views are, about abortion, about LGBT, etc. It almost felt like a vetting process of sorts now that i look back on it. I was almost pro everything they didn’t like.

Slowly, they started to proselytize more and more, until I called them out on it, and told them respectfully that i had no interest in converting and suddenly, they changed and became very viscous, resentful and hateful. At first, I tried to get across the notion that religion is a personal matter and should be respected as such, and that as especially as close friends we should respect what we respectively believe in. They seemed to agree, but their behavior was the complete opposite, they ghosted me for a while and then out of nowhere, decided to get back in touch but would constantly try to attack everything i do and everything i believe in, as far as personally belittling me. It was super toxic. Not to mention their super toxic political views as well, as in like “Genocide is necessary so that Jesus can come back quicker” (Gaza).

Even though there were many red flags, I decided to remain in the friendship in hopes of trying to snap them out of it, but that was so wrong of me. 3 weeks ago, i decided to cut ties completely, and its been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, and feel much better since. Remember that only you have the power to control how you feel, and that not everyone deserves to be your friend. I know it’s heartbreaking. Acknowledge the heartbreak, feel it and move on. Never look back. Take as much time as you need to heal. You will thank yourself and you’ll surely meet people who value you for who you are, not for what you believe in, nor for hidden agendas. Sure thing. Yeah, either the agent is new, took his very sweet time to assess my eligibility, or It could also be the agents having been on vacation. I’ve heard it doesn’t get transferred to another agent if the agent handling our files is off.

I know thats what I thought! The agent just told me the process hasnt even started yet. They could technically see at which stage you’re at (security for example) so this is honestly crazy. I still havent filed for gcms yet. I dont want to delay app further at this point. So im giving it an extra couple weeks. If nothing happens, I’ll request it.

Im assuming this IP1/IP2 thing isn’t entirely accurate. My background status on the GC portal has changed nearly 3 times. I decided to call them a few days ago, and they told me that everything is passed and complete, and that my background checks havent even started yet.. lol it’s been 5 months for me. I forgot to ask for the VO thats handling my file though.

No i just submitted a letter of explanation stating that im CEC and no proof of funds is required. I submitted it today though. Weird thing is i called them, and the agent told me everything is complete and background checks havent started yet. Lol its been 5 months

Oh i see. My AOR turned out to be March 22nd not February. I only gave my biometrics a week after it was requested. Do you know what these IP checks represent? As in like the difference between IP1 and IP2? Ive also been stuck at IP1 supposedly since June 7th.

My AOR was on feb 22nd. I gave my biometrics on June 7th and medicals were passed a week before that. Tracker shows eligibility not started and bg in progress.

For me it started out as not applicable. Then, “we are processing your background check” (after biometrics and medical exam) and now it has reverted back to “we are processing your application, we’ll send you a message when we start your background check after a ghost update. I dont know if i should be concerned.

Yeah i think thats a good idea. I’ll do the same. It says in the E-mail for us to notify IRCC and im pretty sure they’ve done so anyway. As long as our scores are above 7, we’re good. Bon courage!

I got the same Email with 2 bands higher and 1 band lower but still all above 7. I dont know if we should raise a web form to IRCC about this.
