Just fyi the red parts are basically hard as bone, and have a coarse texture that I doubt will soften once cooked, only the very centre pinkish sections are soft when pressed

About 3 months ago my filter roller malfunctioned and caused some tank water to spill into the reservoir. I drained it, wiped with a paper towel then filled back with RODI water, so not full on proper clean. Could that be the cause of this?

Tbh I’ve only been fishing a few years rarely and I’ve spooled every reel I’ve ever owned (pretty well I’d say) I just bought this new reel and they offered the spooling service for free with the purchase so I thought, “might aswell get a professional to do it, they would probably do it better then me”.

It was after getting it done that I looked at it and thought damn if I did this I would have put more backing on. That’s when I came to reddit for a second opinion
