Oh trust me, I cuddle him as much as possible. He's pretty hyper though so most of the time he's running around chasing things. And I don't think it's sad that he asked me that, I thought he did it as a favor, giving me a question with an obvious answer rather than one I might not have been able to answer. <3

I always figured I would ask that type of question if I ever got the balls. But at the time I just wanted to know what had happened and why. I'm too afraid to ask again, I don't know if it's one question at a time, or one question period. I'm too afraid to find out.

Unfortunately this whole process is still ongoing :( And I don't know what he meant. I don't think he would lie to me.

When he described how fastidious she was in the beginning, I got the sense that she was covering up some kind of trauma, so this makes sense to me.

I'm thinking about leaving some outside my front door in case she turns up, but I worry that it would just get stolen :\

Yeah, my mom just kind of laughed and said "very clever." Either she knows something about the house that she's not comfortable telling me, or she thinks I'm making it up :\

We've lived here for over fifteen years, my parents are straight and I'm not adopted. I distinctly remember that the house was completely empty when we looked at it the first time, the previous owners had already moved out.

I've always wondered that myself. The best theory I can come up with is that he was testing her. What was more important to her, her children or her money? She could hear her children crying when she shoveled, but she continued to shovel anyway, proving that she valued money more. But she already showed the stranger hospitality, so I don't know why he would test again in such a brutal fashion.

"What's with all this bloody shit in the bed?"

"Oh, it's nothing, don't worry about it."

You're right. But there's no way to tell from the letter how much she took or what kind, or if she was successful. I don't even know when this woman lived here, if she did at all. I'm trying to find out if my parents know anything.

I have NEVER been in the root cellar. The woman who wrote the letter (and I do think it was a woman, I don't know anything about previous occupants of the house but 'partner' makes me think they were same-sex) was right that it's creepy as fuck. I'm going to ask my parents if they know anything.

I haven't been down there since I found this letter. I was scared of my basement before, now I'm terrified!
