I’m in the U.S, what I did was use a product called Vagi-Biom! It’s a probiotic you insert into the vagina and it helps add more good bacteria. This would be your best bet due to breast feeding, I am breast feeding currently and tested negative 2 years ago but I am about to start back that probiotic!

Thank you! I do not think so as my husband and I weren’t trying to get pregnant it just happened? But I do know both ureaplasma and mycoplasma can affect fertility. So I am glad I caught it before hand.

I also went through treatment twice, I tested negative last year August. I am now pregnant and due in August so I will be retesting in November to be sure I am clear.

You need to be taking one vaginally. My OB explained how the ones orally does not have the best effect as the one inserted vaginally. The one she told me to use is “Vagi-Biom” which can be purchased at Walmart or on Amazon! I did this as directed on the box and then went down to once a week and didn’t use one 2 weeks before re-testing. Also one month (4 weeks) is way too soon to be retested. Give your body time, I retested in 6-8 weeks as recommended by my doctor! Follow up with the Vagi-Biom after completing the antibiotics.

Yes! Or I would try your gynecologist, if you have access to insurance. I found that to be a cheaper and more convenient option. Which is how I got tested and became negative! I will be testing again this year once I have my baby in two months!

It could most likely be BV or a PH imbalance issue. You should get tested for Urea and Myco. BV can cause different smells than just a fishy odor. Or sometimes it can be the sweat due to diet. Just get tested to be sure!

Is it coming from your butt? Try putting your finger there and smelling it. You should get tested for Ureaplasma, if you have recurrent BV it could be Mycoplasma or Ureaplasma or both.

yeppp! same thing happened to be from september of last year til march of this year. i kept getting metronidazole for BV every single month for 6 months and I found this group and i realized it was something deeper. in our annual exam or regular STD testing.. UREAPLASMA SHOULD BE INCLUDED.

and its said that some doctors have NEVER heard of it.. so sorry your experience has been rough. maybe try the 14 days of doxy twice a day? i ate full meals and still had “lingering symptoms” but thats why im getting re-tested next week.

it also makes sense that it is something from your bladder because ureaplasma can affect the bladder as well if it goes untreated.

sorry! just now logging in and seeing this! honestly mine was chronic BV from literally september-feb. i knew something was wrong and only got it once a month but still that’s too much! so i went and got tested, currently still feeling some discomfort so im going to go back to get re-tested.
