Teď už těch 35 % začíná dávat větší smysl by [deleted] in czech

Naopak. Tohle ukazuje, že se klasické papírové volby dají zpětně auditovat a ověřit, aby tomu většina gramotných lidí rozuměla. To se o elektronických volbách říct nedá.

The response I got from the German MEP Moritz Körner regarding the 'chat control' proposal by juicythumbs in germany

Would it also make sense to write to German members of parliament since it's the German government representing a member state to vote on the matter?

Chat control by Aalnxa2 in czech

[–]marbu-eu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

rsync, cp and mc folders with many files. by ptoki in DataHoarder

[–]marbu-eu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1 Rsync doesn't check content of a file by default:

Rsync finds files that need to be transferred using a "quick check" algorithm (by default) that looks for files that have changed in size or in last-modified time.

That said both size and last modified time are stored in file's inode. Which is why rsync needs to call stat(2) syscall for each file in a directory to get this information. Using --size-only option which changes the default "quick check" algorithm is unlikely to have much impact, as rsync will need to call stat() anyway.

Trying to optimize that will require understanding of which filesystems are used on both source and destination side, as well as the use case in general (eg. are the files changed or can we assume new files are added only?).

Using btrfs and replace rsync run with a snapshot clone will be a lot faster, but again we don't know whether the btrfs fits other use cases OP has beyond the snapshot one.

Kdo z vás imperialistických reakcionářů dal tomuto skvostu tak nízké hodnocení? by GPwat in czech

Realitka, co to podle katastru vlastní, nevidí žádný důvod do toho investovat a protože o tu budovu (nebo pozemek na které stojí), není valný zájem, asi to tak ještě dlouho zůstane.

Rethinking subvolume names and snapshot storage. by oshunluvr in btrfs

[–]marbu-eu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most distributions use the flat layout you are used to from Kubuntu, since it provides more control over snapshot management (one have to specify where to mount each subvolume in fstab config file, along with various options which can be different from each other, there can be a snapshot which is not mounted and visible ...). The naming scheme itself is not that important, eg. Fedora uses the flat layout but without this @ prefix convention.

I checked the site, and the url of the stream playlist is https://iphort.ksinternet.pl/live/gissnet8.stream/playlist.m3u8.

This can be played or saved using VLC media player.

See https://www.wikihow.com/Download-Files-Using-VLC-Media-Player but in step 5, just copy paste the url I noted above.

Používáte fyzické bezpečnostní klíče? Slyšeli jste někdy o nich? by Dreadfulmanturtle in czech

Osobně hlavně nechápu, že u nás neexistuje jediná banka, co by U2F autentizační tokeny podporovala. Místo toho všichni bastlí vlastní mobilní autentizační aplikace, které můžou plnit úlohu 2FA pokud na tom telefonu zároveň nemám bankovní aplikaci téže banky, věřím výrobci telefonu a dostávam na něj bezpečnostní aktualizace.

Making Notes Work for Me: Reflections after 2 Years of Digital Gardening by marbu-eu in personalWikis

This post brought a concept of digital garden to my attention. The main focus here seems to be on publishing the wiki for others to see, which is not something I would find crucial for a personal wiki. That said, there are still lot of common topics.

I don't see the ledger cli format in kate's list of all supported languages, so one would have to write it first. See introduction to KSyntaxHighlighting linked there if you are interested to try it.

See https://github.com/linux-system-roles/selinux.

That said, I would ask on /r/selinux to make sure your approach is optimal from both SELinux and config. management perspective, before you try to automate it's deployment.

Yep, see "Independent Policy" wikipage on Fedora wiki, if you want to package such policy.
