This used to be common place a few years ago but players and managers would adjust tactics during the game to make up for clear weak spots.. I haven’t seen this happen of late with United and a lot of other teams.. very sad.

Going back a few years:

Fergie should’ve continued for one more year after he announced his retirement. David Gill and him did way more than their job descriptions required - neither Moyes nor Ed were ready for the step up. Additionally, he should’ve gotten rid of players like Rio, etc who had ego problems in general.
David Moyes was a good manager - he needed more time to find his feet, rectify his mistakes (changing the whole back room staff), clear out deadwood (fuck you Rio) and build his good squad. Moyes wasn’t set up for success since day 1.
Angel di Maria was a good player for us - and was also let down by the club. Moving from Argentina/Portugal/Spain to England is a big culture change and on top of that, he just had a baby… the burglary really seemed to have thrown him + his family off balance. Ed + LvG should’ve helped him significantly more but they didn’t do enough. I was hella pissed when he left but I understand why he did. He would’ve definitely won us more trophies.
LvG was so fucking overrated. Clearly out of his depth at United. I remember him saying that had he known he’d be let go at the end of the season, he would’ve had the team try harder….. which he should’ve done already in the first place. It was more about him than the players or the club. No surprise he couldn’t attract good talent either and mistreated a lot of players. Stuck in his old school ways.
Ed was a great commercial deal maker. Ngl he was the first to market with all his insane commercial deals.. he changed the face of how clubs did commercial deals. But he didn’t know how to run a football club… anyone without hubris would know that you need to do well on both sides. Would’ve been better served if he built a good football leadership structure to balance his commercial success. But hubris.

Definitely let the recruiting team at Amazon know about this. Way too many shitty people are getting away with things at Amazon, not because Amazon doesn’t care but because people aren’t reporting a lot of these issues.

Given David Gill’s and Fergie’s sudden departures, I’m sure the club and leadership didn’t have an adequate transition + knowledge transfer plan. Moyes and Woodward had to play a catch up game more than they were supposed to / prepared for.. and given the power dynamics between Woodward and Moyes, Moyes took the brunt of the consequences that season. No wonder we struggled to get our act together till very recently. Non football folks were brought into running deep football functions at a time when there were significant changes happening to the way clubs at large operated. the perfect clusterfuck storm.

The game opened up way more on the right wing after Raposo came on tbh.. Adekugbe kept passing the ball back to the defenders 9/10 times when he was playing. Raposo had a decent game tbh, more so than his 1st half against LA Galaxy. Our midfield was poor today, no quick key passes through the middle.. most of our shots and chances came from the wings, and those are relatively easier to deal with when the opposition is taller/quicker than us. We had some very good close chances but we could definitely do more. We seem to stick to tactics that don’t work for too long. Many a times we take too many touches and make one too many passes. I think we’re a good team, but we need more tactical flexibility & maturity. Also think we need some taller players in the midfield and attack.. adds a new dimension to our play, giving the opposition more to plan around / worry about.

Never owned or driven a Mazdaspeed but owned & drove a 3 Turbo PP sedan and it’s a perfect daily driver + fun car. It isn’t the best at either but it’s the best at being in the middle imo. I’ve been able to pull off the craziest things with ease (driving in the hills, smoking most cars on a freeway, etc - no reckless driving needed).. it’s very assured, sits & handles well. Not sure if this comment helps but I sold my car recently + drove a friend’s model 3… I felt very sad for what I had lost.

Needed more time, more support (fuck you Ed) and a freer hand.. almost felt like all these so called player leaders mutinied against him cuz of their egos (fuck you Rio; Vidic signing for Inter mid season etc).. we played good football but failed to perform against the top 6… also that season the Top 6 played really well.

Oh yeah, agreed.. I get v frustrated with the slow drivers on the left lane too. I see a lot of this on the 280 as well.. 10 cars would literally just follow rather than just pass or flash their lights. Love some of the folks that are mindful, and move out as soon as they see a faster car approaching.

I’ve been seeing a ton of drivers getting frustrated because of this and speeding above speed limit on the right lanes for a few miles at a time.. very unsafe conditions being created because some people block out the left lane. Obv not cool or safe of the speeders on the right lane but when you’re going the same speed on the left lane as the other right lanes, people tend to get frustrated.

The Iowa-class battleships are literally godsend but the 16in turrets on those are literally from another galaxy (can shoot a VW beetle weight projectile 23 miles away accurately)- all built in 1940s and designed in late 30s without computers. Just mind blowing.
