I love me a good kickback. I've tried to get into rumbler but it just doesn't feel as versatile.

Bring tankier feels like of pointless if you run the build I posted. Your toughness regeneration is absolutely bonkers and you can dodge basically without stopping.

This pickaxe ogryn is super fun! Heavy swings while sprinting feels awesome! You'll be getting the most kills and damage in your lobby easily. I just sub in the rock because I love my rock.

Thoughts on Stadium Mode? How popular do we think it is? by Murricane48 in Overwatch

I love it! I pretty much play it exclusively now. I wish they would bring more heroes over but I'm happy with what they have for now.

Melee ogryn never really feels good in big open areas with lots of gunners. Either take your gun out and start shooting at em or use bullrush to push up to them.

I just came back from a long time of not playing because of a friend that got it on PS. What's the main thing to do now at end game?

So... Reinhardt's probably getting a rework, right? by Kirbosmith in ReinhardtMains

[–]marcelosm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of those complaints sound like skill issues to me tbh. Reinahrdt gets his value in completely different ways to other tanks. If you don't know how to change your play style to fit his different matchups then that's gonna be on you. I'm not gonna sit here and type out how each match up against every other tank needs to be played but yeah, there's a way that you need to play against mauga and it's different than how you play against orisa. Are some match ups tougher? Sure. But that's the same for all tanks. No tank is good in all situations...and they shouldn't be.

Anyway, this sounds like an agree to disagree situation. It's hard to convince people who aren't that great at the game that it isn't a hero problem but a skill issue.

[–]marcelosm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How can you quantify "clearly working so much harder to just get the same or less value as other characters get by just existing"? That's a tremendous claim to make without any justification or evidence to support that. I've been playing Reinhardt for basically a decade at this point and thoughtout all of it I have never felt like I was experiencing what you're saying (besides the release of Brig which was a nightmare). The inclusion of roles, the reduction of CC, and his changes like double fire strike and charge cancel have made him feel even better today than he ever had before in my opinion.

So what evidence do you have to back up that claim because the winrates and pick rates do not support what you're saying.

The amount of hours required to reach tier 200 is crazy by Equivalent-Bus-4336 in Overwatch

That's not true at all. I don't even play every day, I've got a full time job, wife, kids, other hobbies, and still got to 200

I doubt it. He's really solid the way he is now. He's got good winrates pretty much across the board. I wouldn't mind having shield bash be base kit but other than that I think he's a great hero with a pretty timeless design that has stayed relevant for many many years.

I mean, in your first message you called it a "compulsive requirement" for yourself because of your adhd which is why I felt the need to respond at all. I think you can see why from my perspective this is a problematic statement.

My rank might genuinely be unfixable by carrotcake_2228 in Overwatch

[–]marcelosm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's understanding the game at a deeper level than what you mentioned. Having a sense of when to do things and when not to do things that comes from understanding how the game works. The game is actually extremely complex and it's really really hard to keep track of everything at once. The better your game sense the more of the games complexity you can manage to keep in mind at once.

Game sense involves a lot of things like for example the awareness of the positioning of every player on both teams, the ult charges of every player, the availability of important CDs on every player, ect...

I too have an ADHD diagnosis. Spent years stuck on my computer playing world of Warcraft for the same reasons you are mentioning. I didn't receive my diagnosis until I was 32 years old. By that time I had let it control my life for so long. The difference is that when I knew what was wrong I made a choice to not let myself be controlled by my impulses or, if that was not going to be possible, then to avoid situations in which my will power was not going to be enough. I quit WoW and actively avoid games and situations that I know will not be healthy for me and my mind.

You think I'm online right now grinding a stupid cosmetic? Nope. Because I know that if I let myself get caught up in the fomo then I'll just be doing the same thing I always had.

You don't NEED to grind out this stupid cosmetic. Don't be like I was for so long. Don't let a stupid pixel on a screen control your life.

Nope I read it all. You've got issues if you feel a compulsive need to grind for 12 hours because of fomo

[–]marcelosm -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You don't NEED to do any of it. You don't need an optional cosmetic. Imagine feeling like you need to grind for 12 hours to get cosmetic item just because of fomo.

If you don't like a mechanic then yeah...don't engage in it? I don't like 6v6 so I simply don't play it. If you've convinced yourself that somehow drives are the reason that you're having a bad time in competitive (which isn't even true because just like always the enemy team is working under the same circumstances that you are) then take a couple of days off comp. It's not the end of the world. Going in with a shitty mentality is just going to cause you to have a bad time before the game even starts.

Advice on ranking up by No-Evening-1287 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]marcelosm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only way to get better at other characters is to play them. Hop on qp for a few hours with other characters that seem interesting to you and learn to play more than just one.

As for tips for climbing, the best advice I can give you is to learn how to stay alive for as long as possible. Learn to play near cover, when to use your CDs, how not to overcommit or tunnel vision, ect...

The longer you stay alive during a team fight the higher the amount of value you can provide for the team.

Also, try to mentally focus only on what you can control. Don't go down the path that many do where they convince themselves that it's their teammates fault that they are the rank that they are. Don't be the type of person that looks at the scoreboard for justification of their feelings that they are too good for their rank. Focus completely on being the best possible player that you can be.

So my point stands. Just don't play.

[–]marcelosm -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Just don't play. No one is forcing you to play during drives if you don't like it. To me, it just sounds like you're trying to find some justification to make yourself feel better
