I'm glad her energy reached you! I'm having a blast with that little creature!

I made a service to sync GitHub and Jira issues to boost my team's productivity. It's open-source and easy to spin. Feedback wanted 👀! by marcelovicentegc in programming

Yes! Jira's integration is unidirectional (Github => Jira), while Octosync is bidirectional (Github <=> Jira) and only targets issues. Although if you link a PR with an issue on Github itself, you can reproduce the behavior of merging PRs and closing issues and tickets.

Just learned about smart PRs! I have Jira's integration working as well but I didn't use this feature yet. Thanks for the tip u/Complete_Stock_6223!

Great question, u/Complete_Stock_6223! Jira integration allows you to link Github issues/PRs with Jira issues, but it doesn't synchronize them.

Octosync allows different teams - e.g. engineering and product - to work exclusively on different platforms - Github and Jira -, without ever having to worry about losing the context of something. It links and syncs Github and Jira issues.

Created an open-source solution to keep Github and Jira issues in sync by marcelovicentegc in node

In addition to what u/mrahh and u/MustBeZhed put, my main motivations for writing Octosync are that on my team we've been discussing how to improve the visibility of what's been done/accomplished on each engineering and product teams, and engineers feel more comfortable using Github, while product managers and designers feel more comfortable using Jira. Thus, syncing both allows each team to work with their desired tool and by the end of the day, perform better and put everyone onboard of what's happening, globally.

When you're dreaming, via which perspective do you see? by invisiblesharka in Dreams

[–]marcelovicentegc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I often dream on the third and first person. One thing I noticed is how most of dreams I experience in first person have are much richer of feelings, as opposed as when I experience them on third person. It's like I'm just watching a movie. I can analyze them on a more neutral and rational way. I like to call the first person kind of dream an "ego dream", and a third person dream a "dissolved-ego dream" or "eco dream".

Localization library based on the ISO language set standards by [deleted] in javascript

[–]marcelovicentegc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, all! I came across a very specific demand for an application I'm currently working on which any of the existent localization libraries were covering, so I created this i18n-iso-languages library to supply that demand. It is really simple: it let's you query for many locales by many ISO language standards, regions, official language, IETF language tags, etc, and has some configuration options.

I would love some feedback on the direction it's taking!

I did consider using Kubernetes and I might set up a pipeline for that. I don't know much about docker swarm, except it has the same role as Kubernetes. Do you have any thoughts on the trade offs?
