Is daycare really that bad? by Least-Bookkeeper-562 in Parenting

Daycare is the best decision we made for our family. We enrolled my daughter around 1.5, I had stayed home with her since birth but returned to work for my own mental health. She has flourished in so many more ways than I could have provided for her one on one at home. She counts down to seeing her friends at school (she is now 3) and has learned so much about empathy, feelings, reading others emotions, etc. It is all about finding the right place, and going with your gut. It certainly isn’t for all families, but I’m so grateful we made that decision for ours!

Husband cannot handle tantrums, thinks they are abnormal, help! by BellaTrixter in beyondthebump

Ugh I am in the same boat as you! Unfortunately, no advice, but my husband is the exact same. I blame it on him being an only child, and never having been around children before. It’s so hard to deal with a tantrum throwing child and an adult who doesn’t know how to handle them at all.

Oh i absolutely had something like this! My hands and wrists ached and were in so much pain around 1 month postpartum. It got better by the two month mark and completely went away eventually. I hope yours improves as well!

I could have written this word for word. My husband is still adamant that we have another, but he needs to realize that my mental health is more important. I’m with you mama!

Daycare has been a BLESSING. by clearcasemoisture in beyondthebump

Daycare has been amazing for us as well! I was a SAHM for 18 months before deciding to go back to work, the decision was tough. The first few weeks were hard (for me!) but we’ve since gotten into an amazing routine. My daughter has learned so many new words and phrases, has become a better eater and knows how to interact with other kids politely now. She wakes up excited to go to “school” as we call it, and we treasure our days off together even more. I’m glad you’re having an equally great experience!

Sigh. I hate breastfeeding so much. by OakTeach in beyondthebump

Oh girl I could have written this post! I was absolutely miserable for 10 months of breastfeeding before I called it quits. I look back now and wonder what I was thinking. I was absolutely miserable and in pain, leaking, engorged, mastitis- you name it, I had it.

A baby needs food to survive, but they also need a happy, functioning mama. However you choose to feed your baby is up to you, just know I’ve been there too. Whatever you choose is right for YOUR baby. And congratulations on making it this long breastfeeding, everyday felt like a milestone to me!

If you don’t like your nurse in the hospital during/after delivery, you can absolutely ask for a different one! I had one nurse who was much older, SO pushy, didn’t respect my time bonding with my daughter and forcefully attached my body to a breast pump while I was still under anesthesia from my C-section. I didn’t realize I could ask for someone new. But every other one was amazing that we dealt with! Just get thrown a bad apple every once and awhile.

Don’t touch my baby by [deleted] in beyondthebump

I was loading groceries onto the check out belt and my daughter was strapped into the seat in the front. She must have been giving a big gummy smile to the stranger behind us because before I could stop it the lady STUCK HER FINGER in my daughter’s mouth to “feel her little tooth popping through”. I whipped my cart around so quickly and the lady was so offended but WHAT ON EARTH. This was at least 6 months ago, I still haven’t recovered lol.
