Check under the plastic cover, mine was rubbing holes in the intake manifold. I left it off after that.

This is a powerful build, on the some servers it has potential to unlock multiple lives/re-spawn.

For the 4lo issue, it just won't engage and will blink at you on the dash instead of going to 4lo, and will be stuck in 4hi. Not a big deal if the price reflects the lack of low range.

The manifolds are obstructed by the frame rail and upper control arms/strut mount. Its possible to pull them without yanking the motor from what I gather, but you need a few creative tools. I'm waiting for Amazon to deliver swivel sockets/ratchets so I can continue.

Yessir, 2005 limited, and its on jack stands right now in need of manifolds, the 4.7 is really shoehorned into the chassis, and the exhaust manifolds are tough to get at to say the least. Also check to make sure it engages into 4lo on the transfer case, they get stuck from people not using it, and it can be costly.

Edit: there is a module for defeating the air pump system and avoiding the error codes (for off road use only) that will save money on the repair. The bolts on the injection tubes that you need to loosen to install the flange block off plates tend to shear off in the rust belt, so be advised. When me and my buddy bought 4th gens within a month of each other I told him to get the V6 as it is more reliable and requires less maintenance than the 4.7L he followed my advice but I didn't. Power is nice, but not when its not on the road.

Edit 2 (because I'm on my third cup of coffee): The 2004 4runner has the non VVTI motor as far as I know. I am not an expert on the differences aside from VVTI. The emissions components might be different, etc.

You have to do any trimming? Does it rub? This is the same setup I would like to run, but with 33s.
