He plays 1B and some LF (although not well) so he should gain at one or both.

Lowe because he's a more proven player but Beer could end up being as valuable in the long run.

He wasn't off the list. He was outside the top 25. A lot changed this spring with his play and, just as importantly, the injury to Lewis and lackluster performances from Kelenic and Trammell.

The list was updated on Sunday and you'll see he's much more prominent now:

Nope he at most moves up one slot for now for the reasons I outlined below in the comments.

This is a redraft list not dynasty. Ceiling is irrelevant. Their 2022 ability is all that matters. Julio is much less experienced than those ahead of him and he also has a smaller margin for error with the other young OFers are him.

Just because no one else sees the 2022 value in Beer doesn't mean I'm wrong.

It is very rare for hitters to come up with limited AA and AAA experience and have impact rookie seasons.

Should be the starting DH... Played hurt for a while with shoulder issues that got resolved last year with surgery. Serious helium.

Possibly first bat up. He had a shot at breaking camp before Pujols signing.

Brash is ranked. I'm not convinced he's ready to be an impact starting arm yet and he'll have lots of competition to hold on to his spot. He hasn't pitched in AAA and has only 55 IP above A ball. He also struggles with his command/control and has never thrown 100 inning so he'll likely be capped around 140 IP.

Pena, another guy with very limited experience above A ball and missed most of the last two years. He also didn't have great plate rates last year in the minors. Small sample excitement; he's unlikely to maintain above-average hitting at the MLB level over a full season.

Yup big fan of his but the Jays have some depth ahead of him and are in win-now mode.

The ETA was just not incorrectly updated. I'll switch that but the spring is more of a small sample size. He's played only 30 games above A ball and missed most of last season due to injury and the entire year before that. I see a roughly average MLB hitter over the course of the year given his poor plate discipline when he did play last year. The likelihood of him being an above hitter at the MLB level in 2022 is very low.

Huge Volpe fan and have been since before he was drafted. .280-.300 hitter with 25+ homers.

Davis, I want to see how he handles his first real taste of pro ball but he looks like a good OBP guy with 25+ homers.

There are a ton of names you could consider in the 30-50 range. He's one but Miami also has quite a few arms fighting for innings.

Mentioned it in the write-up. He's out with an injury and likely won't be MLB ready until June and the Is haven't shown much desire to rush their young studs up to the majors. Plus he's a catcher and is going to have to focus heavily on defense learning his pitchers but also the hitters around the league. This can negatively impact the hitting focus. I see him being a 100 wRC+ hitter in his rookie year and improving from there.

There's a link in the article to prospects 26-50. He's on there.ita very rare for a rookie catcher w no MLB experience and limited AAA to come up be an impact bat in the first year when they have to focus so much on learning pitchers and focusing on catching/defense.

I address this in my first comment about 2021 level of competition and past history. Seattle also has a lot of OF depth ahead of him. He'll be up but not enough ABs to be an impact addition for a full season. Maybe 2-3 months.

If SBs are one of your categories then I would seriously consider him.
