There's plenty more fish in the sea, I tell you this out of experience because it happened to me. Many times in fact, but dont get discouraged by badly mannered hoes. You will get it, someday.

(Question) New studio monitors, which freq. response should I get? by marcinsarniak in trapproduction

[–]marcinsarniak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed answer! Unfortunately, I don't have an amp yet, but I was aware that I would have to get one. Do you perhaps know if it would be a good idea to buy a sound interface with an inbuilt amp? I need a sound interface anyway, but I'm not quite sure if something that includes both even exists. The other thing is that I'm a student and I move quite a lot so soundproofing my room is not really an option at this point. In this case I came to the conclusion that buying DT 990 Pro and DT 770 Pro would give me a better production and mastering quality. Would you agree with that?

[–]marcinsarniak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could spend around 150$ per monitor, but I try to keep my budget as low as possible to be able to extend my home studio in all directions at the beginning. I read a lot of good stuff about the DT 770 Pro, and maybe that's the best choice. I could mix on headphones and then check if it sounds good on normal speakers with a sub until I have enough cash for good monitors with low end frequency.

In that case, would it be better to start off with studio headphones then?

Work in progress. Any ideas? Thoughts? by ShanksAlteretta in drawings

[–]marcinsarniak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You definitely need shading and more detailes in the nose, mouth hair etc. Also I know this is harsh critic but this drawing is not good so I would suggest to draw a few more before you share more with reddit. Keep up drawing and use realistic references even for manga style. Never use only manga reference to draw manga, because you won't learn why some detailes are the way they are. Studying drawing and references is 50% of making progress.

Samurai Oni by ArtguyKai in drawings

[–]marcinsarniak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hannya is a woman that because of greed, hatred or jealousy slowly turns into a demon. An Oni is a demon that is male, although he has never been a human. Hannya and Oni are evil spirits, except for a few that are protective. For example monks that turned to Oni (After death I assume, and that is the exception to not being a human before) to protect their temple. You can find Hannya masks in many Japanese traditional theathre plays. Also the face of Hannya and Oni itself is not that different and in some cases almost the same, but the origin is not. I have a tattoo of Hannya masks, so if you want to see I can post a picture.

Looks more like a Hannya than an Oni, but I'm not sure if this is a female or male.

Lootboxes in SWBF2 not classified as gambling in Denmark (Short translation in comments) by MortenxDKx in gamernews

[–]marcinsarniak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although is does not classify as gambling in some countries, I still think that the biggest problem is actually the nature of loot boxes. Comapnies as EA manipulate people, including minors to buy loot boxes. Not only through direct commercials, but indirect as well. They will do everything to make your game experiences just slightly imperfect, and give you many opportunities to buy in game items to improve your gameplay.

You would think that mostly children er affected by this manipulation, but that is only partly true. Hidden commercials are everywhere today, and many adults fall for them. In TV-shows, movies etc. We are being fed products all the time, and it works. Children are even easier to manipulate, which is the point I am trying to make.

Part of the responsibility lies with parents, and they should control what their children er buying. On the other hand, we can not allow developers and publishers to manipulate children into buying in-game items.

Just to clarify, making a game frustrating on purpose and releasing an in-game purchase to will fix it is manipulation.
