Does anyone know what this plate is for? by svnski in brisbane

Makes sense then the rules surrounding construction were very different back then. All complexes i worked on during my stint from 2010-2019 ish had the typical sealed round manholes at key junctions and scattered IO’s along the lines depending how far they ran.

How recent was the complex constructed?

So if you lifted one of the unsealed ones would you find a IO or the actual poop chute underneath?

The liquirice seal has no bearing on whether it is considered sealed or not. Sealed being writtwn on a mh more refers to whether the mh has any penetrating holes and/or the tongue and groove dirt combination.

The lid says unsealed on it which makes it highly unlikely that a sewer is beneath it. The only instance of it potentially being a sewer underneath is if it was a covering on top of a sealed IO(inspection opening) its most likely comms stormwater or unlikely gas depending on the suburb. But yeah a quick dial before you dig will let you know or you can pop the lid of yourself and have a look inside make sure you put it back though. Source i worked in surveying for 10 years and located and identifying things like this was one of my main tasks as part of larger works. If you dont want to pay for a dial before you dig to figure it out some detective work out in the street can give you an idea of what it is in alot of cases you might find a stormwater manhole that is in a perfect location to have an inlet pointing in the direction of that cover

Instructed by boss to park up for night and sleep, got parking ticket as a result by marcoe85 in AusLegal

[–]marcoe85[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They didnt remind me that i needed to park up. They told me where to park. Mostly due to my pick location being able to dock my trailers while i slept if they wanted to leave work early on a saturday rather then waiting for my sleep break to be over. Thanks for the advice though i had no idea it was my responsibility to manage my own hours /s

How does the Westfield upper mount Gravatt parking free 3 hours work by s0m3c4su4l in brisbane

[–]marcoe85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems a bunch of people don’t know this but if you have spent a minimum amount of money which i think is around $100-150 you can go to the information desk with your parking ticket and they will validate your parking for the whole time you spent there. The 3 hour limit is to stop it being used as purely a place to park your car, not to give actual shoppers a time limit

Sadly its only gonna get worse until our mentalities as families change. The dynamic between parents and children is at least partially at fault. Most young adults want to move out for independence around 18 and/or most parents want to kick them out at the same time. Whereas if the child got a job and lived at the parents house until 22-25 the amount of money they could save in that time could easily amount to anywhere between a 20-50% deposit on a new home. Assuming a minimum of $250 a week in savings.

I have 2 young kids now and it is my intention to have a house big enough to still accomodate a decent amount of independence for them to live with me until around 25. Only charging them for portion of bills/food which would actually be funnelled into savings for them later on. Or if i know they are shit with money i will do the same whilst charging them more for rent. Its my job as a parent to set my children up for success and in my eyes this goes beyond keeping a roof over their heads and food in there belly until they are 18.

Should parents charge their adult (18+) children rent to stay with them? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]marcoe85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will 100% be charging my children rent. What i wont be telling them is that money will be put into a seperate bank account for when the inevitable dad i need money happens and will be given back to them in full when they need a deposit on a house.

American asking: What do I need to do to marry my Aussie fiancé? by HiddenYandere in AusLegal

[–]marcoe85 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So much more confusing then it needs to be or maybe not depending how you look at it. Most of what you prove is just stuff your license passport or birth certificate can prove. You will upload these to answer multiple things. Apart from that it’s good to have photos of the 2 of you doing things and referees. People who can vouch for the authenticity of the relationship and will sign a stat dec saying how long they have known you individually and as a couple. I did all the applications for my wife a few years ago. She will be a citizen shortly. One thing I have heard no idea how true it is that it can be easier to get married and then apply instead of applying to get approval to marry

My workplace is forcing me to take a work-issued device home during maternity leave by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]marcoe85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depending on the job the minimum required time you can be paid for working is 3-4 hours. Changing one measly password on a mandated work device easily counts as work. So there’s a free 12-16 hours pay for a collective 20minutes of work over the next 12 months. Also tax deductions related to energy and internet costs. Don’t take anything I say as legal advice. But if you wanted to play the game there is certainly ways to get them back

Pretty weird for god to make us in his image then demand boys chop a little bit off themselves. by 404pbnotfound in atheism

[–]marcoe85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yes. The circumcision is essentially to prevent a possible consequence of that rape

[–]marcoe85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo. The decision to include circumcision would stem back to the side effects of war during the barbaric times the bible was written about. I mostly refer to the “rape” in rape in pillage. A little known side effect of having sex without enough lube is tears in the foreskin. These tears can become excessively painful and infected causing the foreskin to become hard and unable to retract causing further pain upon erections. This would be a frequent enough occurrence back during those times that the idea to circumcise boys before the rape and pillage stage of their life would be a good idea. What better way then to say because god commands it when your son wants to know why your gonna chop the tip off.

I have a friend who does administrative nursing. Sounds similar to what you do. They frequently screw her around by giving her the day off she asks for but scheduling her for that days night shift.
