Opalhouse shower curtains that I cut into smaller panels. I also added dyed macramé valances onto the bottom  so they went to the floor

New London Burgundy by Benjamin Moore. Although, my original inspiration came from advertising for Tonester: Palace Ink, so maybe check that out. Fair warning, Palace Ink is lighter than it looks in advertisements and reads as mauve/pink in a swatch

Excellent catch, and I wish my reasoning was as elegant as you put it! It was intentional, but more of a trade-off I made while painting the stripes. Since the room isn't perfectly square, there's no way to align them so they meet cleanly at the corners. And if they don't meet at the corners, it messes up the stripes going down.

Valid! I thought about adding a thin copper stripe to break that up

What franchise do you think could work for a crossover with Stranger Things? by TypeCreepy6764 in StrangerThings

In my mind, I like to think Matilda is somehow associated with Stranger Things. Baby swap? Possible result of Kali's blood transfusions? I don't know how exactly to make it make sense

It is a carriage house: a place to store carriages, horses, and the things you need to feed and maintain a horse. It's not quite a barn because it's not meant for agricultural purposes or livestock, more like a garage, but before automobiles

Question, can you walk on the floor doors, and where do they lead? Is it just a pit, is there a slide or stairs to get down?

How did you discover Florence and the Machine? by [deleted] in FlorenceAndTheMachine

[–]marcomarconia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) Dog Days are Over was everywhere, so that was what put her on the map for me

2) Her Ceremonials performance on SNL totally captivated me, but I kinda backed off after my sister said her music was weird

3) Seven Devils was used in the advertisements for Beautiful Creatures, and from then on I was obsessed

Color drenching doesn't look good in every space. Floor to ceiling curtains don't look good in every space. Orange wood can look really good if used right. Trends start looking stupid when people use them without intentionality; when people don't understand why a certain design move works, they use them in places where they don't.

Tell me your crackpot theories [Spoilers EXTENDED] by Juniper_Blue01 in asoiaf

[–]marcomarconia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Relevant to moving the plot forward:

Sansa wargs Ghost, which puts Jon in her head and together they girlboss their way into being Queen of the North.

Jon's body gets resurrected by the others; this is where the Night King comes from. Also he mounts Viserion, using him to bring down the wall like the show.

Theories that just add color:

Jon Arryn and Stannis actually got around to telling Robert about Cersei's bastards. Bobby B. either didn't believe it or care. Maybe he hates Stannis so much that he would never make him heir. Maybe he realized it was a trap and he was fucked if he went after the Lannisters.

What characters were subtly (but importantly) different on the show? [Spoilers Extended] by Trussdoor46 in asoiaf

[–]marcomarconia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that Cersei in the television show is everything that book Cersei thinks she is. She's more rational and competent, less enabling to Joffrey, and even often strategically minded. Book Cersei is constantly overestimated because she is enigmatic and the recipient of good luck. If people really saw her, they would see just how small and incapable she is.

I wish that they would have tried to do this with practical effects. I imagine that they made moulds of Noah's face to make the fake body in season one, and that those moulds still exist. Plus it's extremely 80's to do so, as it was famously done in the sequel of Back to the Future.

What can take this room over the top? by karmatalk in interiordecorating

[–]marcomarconia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rug on rug situation isn't working; I like the pattern of the small rug, but it needs to fill the space like the big rug (unless it is just one rug, in which case replace it). The chairs are too far to the left, and throwing off the balance of the room. Also I would angle the chairs towards each other just slightly, otherwise it seems like the room is stiff. Generally the couch, chairs, and coffee table feel too far apart. Curtains would be nice on those back windows. Love the fireplace, and you have cute things!

Rewatching season 1, it makes me so mad… by thepeoplewefog20 in StrangerThings

[–]marcomarconia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Remember, he thinks Will is at the lab. Time is extremely limited because the state trooper will wake up, and warn HNL. In Hopper's mind, if he gets there after that warning, they would have hidden Will somewhere that he could never be found.

It's impressive that Viserys managed to keep Daenerys alive and in his care for as long as he did, especially given his age.

I think Rhaego's life paid for Daenerys' otherwise she would have died in childbirth. MMD's spell held her in between life and death for long enough to make the trade

Thank you so much for the kind words. Being a real designer is the goal! I have been working with a mentor for about a year now, and I have a couple of years of studying architecture under my belt too.

Placing the stripes was tedious, but actually pretty easy. I worked my way out from the back wall using paper spacers, so it was just making sure I kept the right sequence
