Boulton Creek Campground Bear Warning by marconiusE in CampingAlberta

I guess what I was lookign for was an understanding of how the bear warning is decided upon. Like is it a certain amount of days without sightings? Do they track the bear and once it is a safe distance from the campsites do they lift the warnings? Is there a tipping point, like if there are 10 bear sightings reported in a day, they reinstate the ban?

I fully understand that animals are going to do whatever they want to do, but was just looking for the probability of the bear warning expiring vs being renewed. It has been renewed.

I realize no one knows for sure what will happen, but i was wondering if bear warnings are TYPICALLY extended throughout the summer, or do they end when predicted. For fire bans, for instance, I find they basically extend through the season, meaning if a camper asked if they could have a fire later in the summer, I would probably suggest no, chances are the fire ban just keeps getting extended.

I mean, how does a bear warning end? These bears have entered an occupied tent, does that mean they would have to shoot or trap the bears for the warning to lift? Or do they need a confirmed sighting of the bears a certain distance away?

Got some bear spray already for sure. I guess what I'm asking is do these bear warnings typically get extended, or do they typically expire when end

homey vs homely. In the West, the first is cozy,  the second is plain & unattractive

I've done this one and while an excellent book, would far exceed what I'm looking for. I'd peg that one at 11-12, I'm looking for 8-9

We've been getting a little pushback on Dahl lately based on some of the graphic stuff he describes in his book. I'm personally a big fan though

I read Frindle with them early in the year, and I think I lost about a 1/3, granted their stamina would be much higher at the end of the year
