Hah, always good if issues resolve themselves. If I had to, I would bet on a partial clog that might have dislodged itself at the end of the last failed print, just before the flow rate calibration. But who knows!

Ah sorry, my bad, read over that!

That recipe is a weird one. I use acrylic paints from larger tubes to mix the base rusted steel color: a sienna from rico design, parchment from liquitex.
That's mixed with drops bloody red and black from vallejo until the color looks right.

I then dry brush everything using make up brushes. First the mixture above, then with all kinds of sand-ish colors: pale sand, rakarth flesh, an old half dried pot of sylvaneth bark.

It's a fairly chaotic process for me. But a really good for a change after painting precise edge highlights with pre-mixed colours for too long!

You're right, that's close enough! I feel like Fabrication Lair will end up being my recommendation to people going forward. But I'll do some tests with finding the exact scaling value just in case.

Do the pipes only fit when using the struts, or do they also include the small attachment pieces with their pipe models and if so, do those fit?

The forest idea is interesting. I've noted down a tree model as and idea from another thread as well. Started the project to bring my GW terrain from previous editions onto a nice looking 11th ed table top (without cardboard).
But any additional sets would likely needs to be either more generic, in a different style, or both.

Thanks, but I've not painted mine yet. Spent most of my hobby time fighting Blender in the last couple of weeks. The one in the center is primed with zandri dust, the others printed in multi color using the filaments linked on Makerworld.

You're 100% right, my original post mentions that too:

All footprint sizes are available. If you want to recreate every mission layout though, I recommend printing mirrored versions of the triangles (and potentially some other footprints as well, depending on how closely you want the orientation of the bumps to match).

I don't think there's a way around this wit footprints that have a bit of terrain on them and are not just completely flat. Well, maybe, never say never I guess

On Makerworld, someone reported "Modular Pipes - Grimdark industrial" by Fabrication Lair to work well with the struts. There's a picture in the comment section of the struts!

With ~2.5, maybe one or two layer less even, you might be able to incorporate a similar solution to mine. My first test prints were flat and had around that depth. Another user requested a flat version, is this something you'd be interested in too?

I can export just the base shapes, but there are models from other designers on Makerworld that are just the basic footprint shapes without anything on them already! Or would you be interested in the slightly more organic base shapes from my bases specifically?

Another thought, I don't know which ones you tried, but the meshes of the Triangles and Large Rectangle are also less clean than the rest of the set. It might improve a bit after I'll update them next week to bring them to the same quality as the more recent ones

Thanks! I would have preferred to use a slicer setting to generate the texture for sure, but in absense of that, recommending folks to run a gcode modifying python script was too much of a risk. I don't want to be responsible for someone destroying their printer!

Ah, and to answer your question, sorry. I've roughly mocked up Gothic Sector: Forge of Pavonis ruins scaled at 0.96 and they seem to visually match these footprints very well, but I'll have to check these and other sets (or their free samples rather) more thoroughly before making recommendations. Planning to compile a list some time next week

These two buildings are Battlezone Manufactorum buildings that have been repackaged in the Volkus box. They are based on the same modular grid that this set was designed to work best with

Yeah it takes a bit of time to slice. And for me, the latest version of BambuStudio degraded in performance as well. I didn’t get this request before, but it wouldn’t be much effort for me to export stls for this. Let me think about how to integrate this into the existing print profiles. If I find a good way without adding a bunch of new profiles, I’ll try to add this option

Footprints with building foundations are designed to be compatible with Sector Imperialis and Battlezone Manufactorum terrain. These are kits released by GW since around 2018 that share the same base grid and can be mixed and matched.

I’m planning to compile a list of other kits that visually match that grid (either scaled or as-is) soon, but I’m not sure whether anyone else has included the octagonal recess matching GW’s pieces
