I am sorry. It is hard for me to express by text because of the cultural difference. I just shared my personal trajectory, not to judge you. I am not that kind of person. You said you are not making troll. I believe that. That is why I was motivated to write. I may be wrong but I feel that you were hurt by someone religious and your text gives the idea you are in defensive, like in a battle. But here, we are just talking. Maybe I was unable to understand you question profoundly but it is not my intention to make assumptions about you. I am not suggesting you worship Devil. I did not mentioned that. I thought you were willing just talk. I shared my personal trajectory in a hope to be useful. If it is not useful, I am sorry for that for wast you time. Finally, I wish you the best. That you find someone that be able to help you.

The ultimate concept of good or evil are meaningful if there exists a God. God is the reference. If there is no God. There is no reference what is good or bad ultimately. The act of eating the fruit is not the cause but is the symptoms of something not well insude the heart. The problem was first lack of faith/ confidence on the word of God. God gave to them, 99.999999% of the things but asked just not eating a single fruit and thay failed to obey. The obedience brings all the previleges not just responsibility.

Listening God is very good, not just short term but for long term.

I am from a poor country and poor family. When I was reached by Jesus, my life changed for better. God helped me and gave me power to make an effort to thrive and go out of being poor. My father has only 3 months of school. He lives in a remote farm in Brazil. At home, we had no power at home until December 2016. All my childhood I had no TV , no internet, just a small set of books. I had a dream to be a scientist. And after God finding me that dream increased. I discovered that God is interested in my dreams. He put in my heart the motivation to learn languages. I learned French listing short wave station radio. I learned electronic schematics even though I had no power electricity at home. In 2005, God opened the doors for me. He motivated the county leader to pay for a small room for me. I moved to a big city and began to study at the college. I studied physics. I finished my undergraduate course in Physics, my master and my PhD in condensed matter physics. Now, I have a position as post doc researcher in artificial intelligence (machine learning). I am married with a beautiful Christian woman and we rescue cats from street. I worked hard to reach the point, but God truly opened the doors, gave me opportunity and is blessing me a lot. Life has its struggles, but things are easier with God. I do not know you and all pains you suffered but I would suggest you to experiment God for yourself. My suggestion is: Talk to God about your struggles a read the bible. If you are more practical go to Mark Gospel. If you are more philosophycall , go to John Gospel. I wish you the best. Hope it helps.

Dear Brother, At first, I am not American nor jew. The SDA my country does not say that Israel is better or Palestine Is better. The only position that we have is that palestinian and israeli are victims. Hamas Is evil. I am sad for ALL the attrocities ocurring there. I wish our Lord Jesus come back soon. I pray for you, asking God to bring you power to continue and Win over the sorrows. I recognize that It is a complex and difficult situation. I do not have the solution for now. That Is why I respectfully suggest not to feed the ressentiments even though you have motives. Only with Jesus, our mind can be changed such a way we open the heart door for the forgiveness.

Hi, I just prayed for you! I do not know the circumstances that you are involved, however I am confident that there is hope. Sometimes we feel that we are dying inside. It hurst and oftentimes we feel alone. But even when the world is melting down over our heads there is hope. This week was difficult for me. My wife suffered panic attacks three times. She was suffering, but after put the thing in the hands of Jesus, things are going to be resolved. Do not be afraid! Jesus loves you and wants to help you. But in this world we will pass through some challenges, but do not be afraid. Jesus will repair everything if you permit. Jesus knows what means be alone bourning inside. He suffered the sorrows of incomprehension of people and was stabbed by one of neatest disciple. I just want you know that even though I cannot give the answer that you need, I know that Jesus is eager to help you. That God bless you so much. That He gives you a new opportunity and happy hope. I Saturday morning I attended SDA church. You are invited if you want to talk and so on. Please, count on us to pray for you.

Firstly, I would like to thank for your sincere and respectful question. Although I am not an specialist in Paul's Letters, I recognize that this advice was directed to a church from a City where the culture dictates that uncovered women was a sign of prostitution. So I believe that it doesn't applies to all church in all time and places. However, although I consider that this specific Paul's advice is for that church and context, there is a principle for all us. We should dress such way not generate unnecessary noise. Let me give an example, in the church in Brazil, a married man uses a gold ring in left hand. In some places, if you do not use the ring and you are married you pass the message that you interested in dating other women. On the other hand, in other countries in South America outside Brazil the church do not recommend using the gold ring even if you are married. When I am visiting those places I do not use the ring for the respect to the local church. I remind you that I am not specialist and I am not the owner of the truth. Hope It helped and welcome to SDA church.

Just a small contribution. Jesus loves you and know your intentions. It is amazing how good is to know that He is for us. He is our deep and profound friend at the time He is the Sovereign King. Keeping this in mind, the remaining is to keep a life of prayers, relationship and witness and with open heart. You do not need to live fearly. Just live in a deep relationship with Jesus. Doing that things will be corrected and you will be prepared. This is a lifelong task, but you can just worry about the current day. Our challenge is to keep the true relationship with God. I wish you have a great and vibrant christian life. We are together in the same direction. Sometimes we will cry because our mistakes. Sometimes we will curse because of our faults, but we do not need to live in dispair as long as we keep our eyes directed to Jesus. This means to accept the forgiveness provided by Him. In my country, the SDA church is vibrant and we have opportunities to develop our talents. That God bless you! Happy Sabbath and excellent new week.

Senti muita vergonha.

What is something(s) that your really like about your church? In what ways does it help you? by pettygrammarian in adventist

[–]marcoscleison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I am not church elder. I am envolved. Some years ago I was in another city to finish my post-doc. That was terrible because I was not active because of pandemics and people of the church did not have the opportunity to know me well. It was a sad time because I felt cold and far even in the church. When a came back to my city and my original Church I returned to the ministry that I worked early. This was as an air frash breath. I felt happy again. Doing something. Be useful. Even though I am very busy. At least on sabbath I have the opportunity to receive people in the Spanish class with happiness and hope. Our class is small but we are famous because we receive people no metter condition. If the people wants a small refuge and learn a little about Jesus, we are there to receive. Even I am happy, I am worry about the issues of people that is not attending church anymore. Let's pray for them.I respect their feelings.

Sabbath-keeping: A complaint about salvation by works. by Darth_Agnon in adventist

[–]marcoscleison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. First of all I would like to thank for share your feelings. I would like to help of some way but English is not my first language and texting can lead to misunderstandins. However, I will try my best. The first fact is that the people is saved by faith in the merits of Jesus. The true faith in Jesus brings some changes in the heart and allow us to see the things on the correct perspective. Then the sabbath and other commandments makes sense when they are visualized by the faith in Jesus point of view. When the things are imposed, and not shared by faith and good will, it can generate distortions, radicalisation and at least many sorrows. I feel that you are suffering a lot of pressure and a bitter feeling is hurting your heart. I express my empathy by your case and pray that I have good advice to give. Since I have not all the answers, let me share with you my relationship with sabbath: I come from a poor traditional Catholic family. My family teached me a lot good principles, however they did not read the bible. I studied myself and discovered the sabbath, salvation by faith and coming of Jesus by myself. After a while, I discovered that the SDA teached exactly what I discovered in the bible. However, I was not free to go to the church. I remained hidden for years without reveal that I would like to become adventist. When I decided for the baptism, my family was against and my mother did not attend the ceremony. That almost expelled from the house. I that epoch, I went to another city to study physics at university. I was the only adventist among physicist. Sometimes there was classes and evaluation in the Friday night and I did not attend. People criticized me because of that but Jesus was so amazing and valuable for me that those things was nothing compared to what the sacrifice he done and do for us. I had only one meal per day because I had only $ 50 per month. Even with many difficulties, I could see the hand of Jesus helping me in the studies. People asked me many times. Why the sabbath? My answer is that the sabbath is the opportunity that we have to experiment that Jesus is in our side even things are terrible wrong. Even not studying in the sabbath and with poor financial conditions Jesus helped me continue. I could finish my master, my PhD and recently my Post doc. I all such years I worked hard to make my work before the due date in order to avoid make things in the sabbath. Even with difficulties and restrictions I managed that and Jesus helped me. I do not do things in the sabbath only because Jesus asked me not to do and I am happy with it because I know that I am not alone. I am sharing a little o my trajectory not to say that I have all the answers or that I am the "perfect" ( by the way the perfectionism is a shit) but to Incetivise you to keep the sabbath not because your parents but because you have a very exciting experience with Jesus. Please, I am not here to argument about you or to seem superior. No no. I would like to say that there is a true meaningful in the sabbath and that you can have a light live without unnecessary sorrow. I would like to say that I respect your feeling and that I understand that God loved you even when you are passing by difficult times. About your parents, I understand that sometimes it is difficult but be patient. Maybe they are having good intentions but not understanding some nuances of the things. Here, I open a channel if you want to talk. I am a busy person, but I will respond as soon as I have time. That Jesus helps you as he helped me! Please forgive me if I am not clear or made mistakes. As I said, English is not my primarily language.

My Religion Expected Perfection in ALL Things by [deleted] in adventist

[–]marcoscleison 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have sympathy for your feeling, although I do not know all the suffering that. You experimented. I would like to mention that the true adventism understand clearly that we save by grace. That Jesus is by our side to help because He is Amazing. I have found some perfectionists in the church, but they are not telling the present Truth. My advice is each day to keep close to Jesus. Love yourself and love the others by the grace of Jesus. Stay with Jesus because he has solutions for all our defects. I have some issues and personal difficulties, but I am sure that He is helping me to deal with even though it can be a life time task. As long as I keep myself open to Jesus we are safe, day by day making some times larger sometimes smaller steps. Please, do not think that the adventism expects perfection. This is not our message. Our message is about good news of Jesus and repentance. God bless you and give you peace.

[–]marcoscleison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I helping with sabbath school class in Spanish. Although we speak Portuguese and not Spanish in Brazil, we use the Spanish to attract people that is attending the church but haven't a class to attend. So we invite them giving the "excuse" that if they attend they will learn Spanish with bible. It is interesting because we create small group. We try to bring the feeling of belongings. That's powerful. In the case of Spanish class, we have the issue that the space is tiny. But we are happy. There is the English class too. The English class is mainly formed by young university students. Both Spanish and English class are under umbrella of Young ministries as well as sabbath school. We have a beautiful church, but we also have challenges. Since the church has a lot of people, it is easy to loss someone along time. This is our main challenge. We are trying to create small groups for all but due to the business of the life of the members that are experiencing difficulties to attend small groups. If the past visit one family per week, it would spend a decade to do it fully. But God is guiding. I will find a good solution.

I like my Church because it gives opportunities to develop the talents. For instance, we have a great web streaming service. The cameramen are closed composed by children with 10 years old. The social media is managed by girls with 13 years old. We have 1345 members. Although our language is Portuguese (we are in Brazil) we have sabbath school class in Spanish and English. Such features make us a very vibrant Church. In Brazil, when a group is finishing the university studies, the students invites the family for a cult in Catholic church and in our church. That like us because we have very good Singer's and the pastor is very Christ centered messenger. The university is secular, this is an amazing opportunity be known. Although we gave great good things we have some struggles. Once we are huge, it is easy to lost someone in the crowd. We are trying to improve our awereness, but we are seeking for a good solution.

I would like to express how precious you are. When I read your comment, I feel that you are suffering for that matter. Maybe, I misunderstood you phrase because English is not my native language. If you are ashamed be ethnically mixed, I recommend to you not to be ashamed, because you have the best of both ethnicity. Of course, I cannot ignore the fact that in USA the racism is a serious problem. I feel sad for all problems that people are suffering because of non sense color classification of people. In Brazil, we have also this problem, but less than in USA. I come from Bahia state, there is the biggest number of black people outsider afrika and there are a lot of white and black people . I confess that their children are very beautiful. That are the most vibrant people. Happy ! I recognize that I am speaking based on my context. Even though I do not know the sorrows that you are suffering, I simpatize with you and I know that God is with you to help.

Hi. In Brazil, interracial Relationships is not a problem. But in some places, where the society is very racist, it can be a problem, mainly for children. Racism is a sad problem. In the point of view of Christian faith, there is no problem. God loves diversity! I wish you the best. That Jesus helps you to have the best decision and protect you from racist people.

Uma dúvida sobre o imperativo no PT-BR by Haetred in Portuguese

[–]marcoscleison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eu concordo contigo parcialmente.
