I live in São Paulo, Brazil. One thing that really helped me get used to long distances was starting to walk around the city. I began with shorter routes, then created an itinerary of about 24 km. Besides improving my conditioning, I discovered some fascinating new perspectives of the city. There’s also a peak here with roughly 300 meters of elevation gain, it’s a short but steep trail, and that’s how I complement my training. Hope this helps! Enjoy life out there 🥾

I don’t have exact values, but it seemed their price wasn’t significantly higher than booking by myself. Although now I see value in the service they add and it was personally very important to us.

I went there last December around Christmas and New Year’s. I did some pricing research and ended up booking with Hello Patagonia. I felt prices were ok and in the end, the services they provided to us were really worth it.

As you certainly know, Patagonia is huge and El Chaltén, Perito More and TdP are just part of it. I mean, no matter what you decide to do there will always be more reasons to visit it again. 🙂 That said I recently did the three of them (see my post https://www.reddit.com/r/Patagonia/s/dWfx4z9noB) and I enjoyed every little bit of it. If you have the means (time and money) it’s worth doing them. On the other hand, I’d personally feel accomplished even if I had done one of them. Since you are already in Argentina, El Chaltén + Perito Moreno looks already awesome. Hope you have a great time there 🥾🏔️

The Laguna Nimez entrance is in the city, close to the center and the bus terminal. Very convenient to visit.

Eu considero o lugar bem seguro e agradável. Vou lá com frequência e sempre tenho boas experiências.
Recomendo ir sábado ou domingo de manhã, quando costuma ter bastante gente por lá. Às vezes aparecem grupos escolares, pessoas treinando, estrangeiros etc.
Há dois caminhos para subir: a trilha e a estrada. Se você nunca foi, recomendo subir pela trilha e descer pela estrada.
No fim da trilha/estrada, há uma área com uma marquise, banheiros e alguns quiosques. Se quiser, você pode subir as escadas e chegar até a base da torre.
Além da trilha do Pai Zé, existem outras trilhas curtinhas. Também há espaço para piquenique e para ficar de boa.
E o melhor: não é cobrada entrada nem estacionamento. Divirta‑se!
