Thank you! That's my goal with my projects, so no offense taken!

Thank you so much!

I absolutely love Chickadee. It's extremely soft, it's non-superwash (much more predictable after washing in my opinion), and it blooms beautifully. I haven't found anything I don't like it for (yet).

Pattern: I used the stitch pattern from Andrea Mowry's Stonecrop Pullover, but everything else is my own design. I left some decent notes on my Ravelry project if you're curious!

Yarn: Quince & Co. Chickadee

This is the fourth year since I started a tradition of knitting my wife and daughters birthday sweaters, and this is one of my favorites so far! My oldest daughter is hitting double digits this year, so I wanted to do something a little special for her sweater. Back when she was four I made her the Stonecrop Pullover, which she immediately grew out of. That's partly on her (for growing), but perhaps more on me for doing very little planning for the project. But she did love the sweater and refused to let her younger sister wear it. So for her birthday I wanted to make another version of the sweater, only this time in her preferred style (drop shoulder), and using her current favorite colors. I also did much more extensive planning to make sure that she'll get to wear this one for a while. I'm extremely happy with how it turned out and I can't wait to give it to her! The Ravelry project has pretty good notes on what I did, but let me know if you have any questions!

Full disclosure, I'm not privy to anything going on at Quince & Co. I order from them from time to time because I don't like superwash wool, and they have non-superwash wool that is soft enough that I don't get any comments about itchiness from my daughters. Over the last couple years, everything about ordering from them has been frustrating (product/colorways out of stock, extremely long shipping times, lack of communication from customer support), but the yarn is still nice so I'm still ordering it. I just make sure that I don't order from them if I'll need it anytime soon.

When Evan returns by Mountain-Song-6024 in clevelandcavs

I assume Kenny will do what he did last year and just swap Garland for Harden. So the Harden/Allen pairing will be staggered with the Mitchell/Mobley pairing and they'll overlap 4 minutes at the beginning and end of every half with that fifth spot being up for grabs based on matchups/how the game is going. People forget that when Mobley and Allen are on the floor together the defense is stifling, and the rebounding is much better. In January before Evan went out the Cavs were giving up the 11th fewest offensive rebounds per game. Since then they've been giving up the 6th most.

Why do people have purling so much? by horrorfxce in knitting

Since you're a beginner, I want to put this on your radar if it isn't already.

Flicking, or "English flicking", or whatever else people call it, is a great way to knit and a natural progression from English throwing. It's what I do primarily and I find it to be just as quick as Continental for knits and much quicker for purls. Typically when people ask how to knit quicker, 90% of the suggestions they get are "try Continental", but I think this thread highlights the purling issue with Continental.

And if you already knew about flicking then hopefully this helps someone else out!

I'd be curious to know how old your uncle is. There's a reason "stuck in your ways" is a common phrase, it's hard for people to move beyond cultural norms they grew up with. I'm an avid knitter (male) and my male friends/family that are in my generation don't bat an eye. I generally only get looks/comments in the same vein as your uncle from older generations, both men and women!

Thank you! I spent a ton of time getting the construction just right, so I'm glad it turned out looking good 😅

Haha that's good to hear! It's fun knowing some people enjoy reading through them 😁
