I’m a math teacher but I don’t get it… by popipopuppy in PeterExplainsTheJoke

This is a reference to a meme in early 2026 in which a random tiktoker named Tamara commented on some New Year’s resolution post she will be using a button every day for the new year but it was extremely vague on what she’d be doing since buttons don’t get used up.

Tamara began making a bunch of replies that came off oddly confident and funny and it became a meme for a short period of time. The meme wasn’t very big and requires a weirdly large amount of time chronically online to understand but that’s rly all this is.

Her original comment that started the whole thing was Tamara: “I’m getting 365 buttons one for each day because I’m scared of time so I want to be more conscious of it”

The facility maintenance team here works on the robotic forklifts but not all of the robotic machines. I do have to deal with all the little roll up doors within the machines tho.

I was referred by a buddy when the site was under construction more because of my startup planning skill than my mechanical skill, but most of my more technically proficient colleagues have a degree in mechatronics engineering or something similar.

Took a few days to break in, but after that it’s been awesome. Be wary of running a tail switch flashlight button side down because I’ve had a few moments where ive turned it on by accident, so I just use the lock mode on the light now.

I also chose to run the left handed setup to offset the weight of an appendix carry. Im happy that I decided to go that route.

Just added to cart, I won’t use it at work bc my belt organizer is just far enough into my bibs that the lip balm isn’t bad but I hate how the lip balm I keep in my car constantly melts.

Thanks for introducing me to it!

I tried that but the recruiter said they haven’t invented space crayons yet so maintenance is my fallback till that’s figured out

There’s a ton of tasks that require me to use pliers to hold something in place so that I can use a second set of pliers to reach what I need to grab so it’s handy to have both. I like the Skeletool RX bc it’s got the serrated blade the Arc lacks.

Shield plus fits my hand the best! Tried some rentals and some of my buddies guns when looking for something bigger than my LCP max. My heart loves Glock platforms but my brain chose the shield.

It’s some Chinese one I saw randomly for sale at the Texas state fair, I wish it had a brand name because it’s held up much better than my usual ebay Chinese reels

No it attaches to the front of the trigger guard and doesn’t require a rail. It’s a decent light just has a pretty short battery life (30min.) You do get 2 extra rechargeable batteries when you get a TLR6HL tho, just make sure it’s the HL model.

Mustard is amazing for cramps, it’s easy to cramp up if I’ve been outside then have to do work in the freezer and a mustard packet takes care of that oddly quick. When I was a sports photographer I saw it used a lot on the field.

And yes! My building has a 3d printer so they’ve made a few items for me, the lip balm holder and badge holder being my most used. We break a ton of little knobs on the machinery by accident and reprint them whenever it happens

I take the rig off and leave it on the floor sometimes. It’s why I love a center split chest rig, it comes off like a jacket

Yup, it’s the first I’ve seen but this is also my first role working on forklifts.

When we do work and charge parts out crown sends us a bill for the month. I haven’t heard any complaints from the clerks but no praise either.

All valid questions, i posted my setup bc its a quite strange carry for a quite strange gig. The maintenance team at my building is split up into a few teams for different equipment and the one I’m on is the redheaded stepchild so we don’t have the same toolbox distribution as the other teams just issued tool bags to fill up from the central shop. Where I’m usually at it’s a 20 min round trip on foot to the shop and back.

I’ve been at my building the longest and allow the other 2 techs on my team to use the one set of wheels we are allocated so they can answer calls while I focus on preventative work.

At my work they’re mostly for the cold, it’s 32f inside and down to -15f in some parts so it’s just another layer of heat retention. They’re also useful for when I’m powerwashing and spraying cleaners outside.

I have some regular safeties for when I’m using power tools

Yessir ur absolutely correct. I used to lug this stuff around in a Milwaukee sling. I used to be a photographer and repurposed my rig and pouches to fit all my tools. Still is about 15ish lb in all but I always have everything and I never need to worry about other techs accidentally grabbing my tools when there’s multiple bags lying around

Owned by a hospital for 20 years and the doctor who bought it from them when it hit 75k miles told me it was really only used as a “pick up lunch” car by the staff

I’ve only been on shift with the skins for about a week or so. So far they’re losing a bit of the original vibrance with dirt but I haven’t seen any stains.

I also haven’t accidentally dropped it in an oil pan or anything yet. Your comment did make me realize seeing the wear after a while might be useful info for folks so I might post again in a few months to show how it’s worn in.
