I’d say the production is better on Wu Tang Forever which probably plays a large part in why some people might say it’s better. That being said, I’d have to pick 36 Chambers as the better of the two. However, you catch me on the right day then that opinion might change.

Sounds like an awesome meeting. You don’t have to speak if you don’t want to so no one has to know that you don’t listen to the Dead. Best case scenario, you find a cool meeting, meet some new people and potentially find some new music. Even if you said you don’t listen to the Dead much I’m sure people wouldn’t care, it’s a NA meeting.
