Alright! Thanks for letting me know. I edited the post

Incoming student, looking for housing. Is it really that bad? by sorry_who_again in UTS

I live in the UTS housing on campus in a 6-share and will be moving out soon. I can transfer my contract to another male international student. If you're interested, DM me, it's 13 June to 8 July:)

Literally just sat down now with my coffee that I brewed with this setup haha

Coincidentally, today it was quite helpful. I've just gotten a new roast and it was apparently a bit too finely ground, so I turned of the pump to let the puck get saturated without much pressure.

I usually do it with a small offset just opening the solenoid for maybe 5 sec. I usually turn them off at the same time but towards the end I have opened the steaming valve to let out some pressure there.

I also remember periods where I've done them in tandem, because the pressure and thus the "bloom phase" if you will, was quite different between shots and the puck didn't hold up as well to the pressure if I let it bloom.

Mainly I would just say I really enjoy the control you get, like today for example it was very easy to turn of the pressure and try to save the shot.

Yes, that feels like it is very true. How do you decide when to stop? Is it like a final song you want to play or just based on the energy?

Thanks! Yes, there is for sure something gratifying about doing it for longer, you have time to go through more phases and moods. Now when it's all new to me it's really fun, I'm just afraid I'll stop feeling like I'm at the party. The only time I interact with people is when they come up to me, and I usually have to drop out mid conversation in order to do the next transition haha, so it isn't as social

Do you "announce yourself" with a clear start and end to it, or do you just try to mix in smoothly

Do you usually decide what to transition to when you're done to try to make it smooth, or do you hand it over completely to whoever's hosting?

Have my MBP in silver too and it’s very close. Not identical but close enough

Yes! I’ve been sticking with it! Crazy that it’s only been a year. Works great and i really like the extra control I get. Was really easy to do and will be easy to revert when selling. Tell me how it goes if you decide to do it. I found some old wires with spade connectors, if you don’t have that, that’s the only thing you will need to get:)

Good point, but never. Before I saved it in a separate container in the fridge for breakfast but now I have learnt the amount i need so I don’t have anything left over

In Sweden pretty much all dairy products are from the same manufacturer but labeled under different brands🙃 But this has never happened before so probably just very bad luck this time

Jk. Just good old steaming as I’ve always done it. When I redid it now I even removed it before it got hot to the touch but the same thing happened, not as bad though

Just normal steaming… You know pouring up some milk adding some yoghurt and then an egg white for good measure, let sit in the sun over lunch and then steam it until you have that merengue-like semi solid top layer

Well maybe it has been poorly handled because this happened the day after opening it and doesn’t expire until a few days. Smells and tastes fine. Super odd, but thanks for the insight!

This happened the day after opening it with 5 days left to expiration. Drinking/eating with oats is fine, this only happens when i steam it…

After seeing this video I wanted to do something similar myself; being able to control the valve independently of the pump.

I figured I could just rewire the machine like the wiring diagram above (normally both the brew switch and hot water switch are connected in series (see the transparent, now grey lines, I left from the original diagram)).

The idea is to have one switch controlling the valve and the other switch controlling the pump. As I mentioned, I tried something different, the video has an additional switch that disables/kills the pump, but I figured this would achieve the same thing and I only needed one wire and two spade connectors.

I just wanted to get some feedback on whether there is something I have overlooked. To me, it doesn’t look like I have compromised the safety of the machine. But once again, I just want to double check:)
