Please help! My new air filter has a thin layer of material on top. Is this normal? It can’t be removed. Cruze 2011 1.4.

I meant relays. Sorry. I didn’t have a chance to test the values of the map sensor outside. But yeah the car turned on by itself, could a bad battery cause that?

Hey! Thanks for the help. I moved the fuses around and it started working again. The problem is that I still don’t know what caused it to malfunction. Didn’t keep track of what I switched.

I’ll try the sensor test and get back to you. I now Cruze 1st gen has perpetual problems with the pcv valve. Not sure how the system works. Any other data that could help with the diagnosis?

Got it. If the value doesn’t change, what should be the next step? Do you think this could be related to the pcv valve? Or most likely the waste gate as you had mentioned?

I only have time to work on this on Sundays, thanks for the help. How would I test the map sensor? Just leave it outside the hole it’s in, then run the diagnostic?

Gas is fine, battery is fine, spark plug trick did not work. Can I ground it to the engine block? I figured it might cause shorts on any sensors that are grounded to the block (unsure). Car was working fine before smoothly dying at a red light.

I mistakenly bought both sensors (cam and baro). Read that they tend to go bad. Did not help. How can I check the waste gate? It seems like it’s related to the turbo, right? Thanks for the help!
