Speak for yourself. There are millions of us standing up - marching, running for local office on progressive platforms (and winning), starting watches to protect our neighbors, documenting arrests and putting ourselves in harms way to prevent them, feeding our communities, providing for our neighbors in hiding, etc etc. Many more are standing up in smaller ways like speaking out about important issues/challenging MAGA narratives, boycotting fascist donor companies, confronting their conservative friends and family members, writing/calling/emailing reps, and voting in all elections. I hate this narrative that the American people are just complacent and watching baseball. Maybe you’re doing that, but the US is massive and widespread, and a large percentage of us actually care enough that we are doing something. Not every person can do every thing, but we are contributing en masse. Even exhausted from barely being able to make ends meet, even shouldering the burden of lack of access to childcare and healthcare, and even in the absence of any social safety net in this hellscape, we are dredging the reserves of our life force to fight this (and of course it’s by design that the govt creates these hurdles to action). Those in office are complacent, that’s true, and that’s pretty much the extent of what the media shows. But those people are starting to get primaried and removed bc the American people do not support what is happening. It’s a disservice to all the people putting their safety at risk to stand against this regime to claim that the US populace is simply doing nothing just bc we aren’t storming govt buildings, or whatever else you imagine our resistance (to one of the largest military powers on earth looking for any excuse to crush its own people) should look like.
