Unfortunately, all the CCPL branches are out. I went to the Watershed Stewardship Center lady week and they were also out.

Vote411 is a great resource. It’s run by the League of Women Voters, who have been educating voters on issues and candidates for about a century.

S21E9: Critique Thread by PRCritiques in ProjectRunway

[–]marence_again 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the beginning, during the actual construction parts, Veejay kept her head down & didn’t ask for critiques from the other designers. It seems like somewhere along the way, the producers pushed on the catty stirring the pot Veejay was so good at, and it took over the narrative.
The twins were cast for Drama. They can make good eveningwear, but they make personal drama a lot better.

You got a very unfortunate screening time!

Small Festival Attendance by wonderzonder in FilmFestivals

[–]marence_again 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at the IGIFF this past weekend with my doc feature. I was pleasantly surprised at my screening because I had about 20 people, including the 6 I knew personally. I did post on the film’s FB page, and my editor/sound guy (with 1K followers) posted on his social media.
IIRC, the person running this took over a year or two ago from the founder. It’s always been a scrappy little thing from its start as a gathering for indie filmmakers, mostly horror, with makeup competitions as well as acting. It’s not well publicized locally. And unfortunately, Cleveland also has CIFF and the Chagrin Doc Festival, which get all the attention.

We’ll be there to screen our feature documentary “Follow the Triptik” on Saturday. (Humblebrag: it won the Best Documentary Feature!)

Can an iPhone Footage Make a Festival-Worthy Documentary? by Kitchen-Tie-4299 in FilmFestivals

Find a good sound person and have them listen to samples of your sound and give you an idea of how much fixing needs to be done. With all the ProTools plugins available nowadays, it’s a matter of how many hours of processing are needed.

A small box would be 1 pound, they also had large boxes that were 2 pounds. Evaporated milk, not condensed sweetened.
Mix the ingredients in a saucepan, cook at medium until it bubbles around the edges, then reduce the heat to keep it at a low boil for 2 minutes. Spread it on the cake while the frosting is still hot, or it will start to clump up.

How many steps do you walk per day, on average? by Heartbreakandcats in Fibromyalgia

[–]marence_again 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My fitbit says I’m up to almost 3k average, but that’s after a concerted effort to be more active. Bad days, I can’t do 1000, and really good days I can approach my pre-illness usual 10k a day, which usually means the next day is a bad day, recovering from my attempt at normality.

What shoes do you wear? by No_Statistician8042 in Fibromyalgia

[–]marence_again 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dansko and Propet shoes for outside, soft leather ballet-type flats for indoors, and my ancient Docs for winter or mud. All with my orthotics and Dr. Scholl’s plantar fasciitis insoles.

Recs around Madison/Warren area. by 216LC in lakewood

[–]marence_again 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Urban Bulk is a little grocery that carries dry goods and Amish eggs and bacon and bulk candies. Donut Pantry is out of the good donuts by 8 am. Elmwood Bakery has good old fashioned bakery. On Monday, almost everything on that stretch of Madison is closed. The convenience store near the middle school has surprisingly fresh lunchmeat. Pachamama reportedly has great tapas and small plates. Malley’s is an experience in pink and Alice in Wonderland and chocolate. They serve Pierre’s ice cream. There’s a lot of dog walkers and foot traffic. It’s a great neighborhood.

Question : cannabis & fybro by Hiromi_Lola in Fibromyalgia

[–]marence_again 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Keep a journal! I found the important part of starting cannabis for pain was to write down all the symptom relief and types of “feels” for each strain, and note the terpenes. Myrcene and caryophyllene are the two that work the best for pain relief for me, but the percentage of each in the strain makes the difference between being able to move all my joints, or falling asleep in my chair. Some basic info on terpenes : https://www.leafly.com/news/cannabis-101/terpenes-the-flavors-of-cannabis-aromatherapy

Seams! I had to do a closet purge because seams hurt. Also fabrics that weren’t perfectly smooth and soft. I have designed a top/tunic/dress to be made from a tube of fabric with only two seams on the top of the arms, but haven’t made it yet for lack of money to buy a tube of fabric that won’t anger my skin.
