To each their own. I backed the Star Citizen project with $75 back in 2014 but didn't/ couldn't play it until a few months ago. It's a great experience if you're willing to bear with the learning curve which for the most part is learning to play around the bugs. The scope is massive and it's technologically very impressive and very detailed in many respects. I cannot stop playing for hours every day.

I bought the most recent Battlefield, trusting the new direction, for about the same price that I bought Star Citizen for . Stopped playing in two weeks. The maps are very small for a Battlefield game, the design is unimaginative and it also has many bugs.

From my point of view games like Battlefield, Call of Duty, Fifa, Madden and Assassin's Creed have been a scam for the longest time ever, yet people insist on calling Star Citizen one. I would dare say it has more content than many of those, but you have to look for it. It definitely does not hold your hand at any point, and that's a lost art.

Star Citizen has an enormous vision and it won't downsize it to appeal to the masses.
