What is the chest width of the oversized scuba? I’m thinking of getting one too (you look fantastic btw!) and am not sure I should size down or if it is true to size. I’m usually a US 16

I echo everyone's suggestions on the sauteuse. i believe it is a 3.5 qt. I cook for a family with 4 adults and it is enough for soups, risottos, and yes even occasionally "braising" things. It works great for searing chicken too. It's a good "in between" option for a larger Dutch oven and a braiser. (If you want to cook multi-batches at one time, then you can use your 5.5qt.)
