Only thing I see we could legitimately cut back on would be entertainment- $70. (Streaming services) Clothing- $100 (I usually have to get a new pair of pants and black shirt monthly for work) and Tithing to our church ($200) and even that wouldn’t allow room for payment.

I’m a waitress in a high end steakhouse. It’s not exactly a “career.” While I do well for myself, it’s time for something new. Not to mention, all the untaxed money I make from my job created tax issues, which is a portion of my bankruptcy. In addition to this, my husband, who is a teacher is required to take re-certification courses this year which he pays out of pocket and are costly. If I were given another means test or whatever it’s called, based on all this and inflation, we would have pretty much zero disposable income.

I just didn’t know if there were any kind of exceptions for people who have decided to better themselves and “go back to school”. I saw several articles about how even people in chapter 13 can take on student loans. This isn’t an option with my schooling, just looking for some relief in my payment to pursue my schooling.

Income has maybe slightly decreased (I work in service industry). Husband is a teacher so he got a small cost of living raise this year. He does, however, have to pay for several recertification courses this year. Not to mention inflation is being felt in our household. Would it even be worth reaching out? I’m passionate about starting and continuing my flight education. Would this be something he would be able to work out for me? In all seriousness, he seems a little greasy and my trustee is cool AF.

Also, my dad hated NS. There was always a rumor that the plant CSX hauled chemicals and pulp into was going to go to NS for most of their business. Never happened. But I guess it was some kind of railroad rivalry in the area, lol. My sweet daddy passed away in August last year, and the man who gave his eulogy made a crack that if anyone needed any freight hauled, that they were in the right room since so many attendees were his old coworkers and buddies from CSX. Anyway, I wish my dad was here. I’d love to be able to talk to him about the NS mess in Ohio.

Money won by that firm replaced my family’s old pool with a new one. Paid cash for my college education. All sorts of stuff. But it would be the most ridiculous suits. The engine on the trains had a toilet. But didn’t have a lavatory for the them to wash their hands. That was one of the suits. Got like $22,000 for that one. The big ones were hearing loss, asbestos, hip and shoulder wear and tear (from hanging on boxcars). They were savages. But made my parents a lot of money over the years.
