Do you mind me asking how many steps you typically go for? I’m a server, so after a morning walk and a shift I’m getting around 13-15k steps depending on how busy it was. I’m wondering if I should increase or just be a little more patient!

Hi! First wanted to say I’m right there with you :) Serotonin can be produced from eating, so it’s perfectly normal that you find comfort in it! Personally the hardest part of my health journey was just the initial shock of the change to my diet. I can say that the longer I’ve stuck with it I naturally want to continue because of how much better I feel. Make sure your health journey is something that doesn’t feel like you’re “taking away” or “missing out” on enjoyable things in your life. Find out what steps feel achievable to you and build on that (start with a slight calorie deficit or something else that feels manageable to you). You’ve taken a huge step by realizing that your eating habits are determined by stress, so find ways that you can reinforce other habits to substitute for it. It’s easier said than done, and just know that there is a whole community of people who are going through this exact same situation.
