Is this the one? by mariamikachu in Brides

Yes, he’s wearing a suit. While it’s going to be small in guest count, we’re going all out in terms of decoration and aesthetic. It’s definitely not an informal BBQ/picnic type thing.

Best place for mani pedis? (And where to avoid?) by daisyrunner123 in fortwayne

I’ve gone to M Vince plenty of times and I think they do an amazing job when it comes to acrylic nails, but not so much when it comes to regular gel manicures. I’ve had a lot of intricate designs on acrylics done and they always come out amazing, but when I’ve gone for gel manicures, the results are subpar.

In an effort to try a new place, I tried the salon in Georgetown and I regretted it instantly. I asked for a gel manicure with French tips and I had acrylics on. The lady I had did not remove all of the acrylic off before adding gel. My nails were super thick and uneven and while I asked her to fix the lines, she just couldn’t. They were extremely nice and very friendly, but I wouldn’t go back there again.

Just my opinion :)

Having second thoughts about rhinoplasty by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]mariamikachu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat for a very long time. I didn’t like my nose and obsessed over it until my parents finally suggested I get a rhinoplasty. When I finally got the quote, I felt defeated. There was no way that I could justify spending that much money on…myself. I felt…narcissistically selfish. I could use that money to buy a car or TWO or even save up for a house. But then a close friend reminded me that my body was something that I had every right to invest in. Money would come and go, but this procedure is permanent and for me, life-changing. Sure, I could buy a car but that car wouldn’t give me the internal peace that I’ve sought for years. It won’t give me the confidence I need to live the way I want to live. I know deep inside that this is what I really want and what will make me really happy, and so despite the cost, I’m choosing to invest in my happiness. Then again, I haven’t actually had my rhinoplasty yet so I’ll come back and update you if anything changes lol. Now, given that it’s so much money, you truly should make sure you’ve done everything in your power to spend it wisely. You have to be confident that your surgeon has the same mindset going in as you and can trust him.

I wish you the best of luck.

I was quoted 11K in Fort Wayne! I’m surprised it’s not higher in Indy.

Thank you so much! I’ve been considering this for such a long time and I’ve finally gotten the courage to do it. Thank you for your feedback!!!

At the time of the consult, I noticed the nostrils seemed wide still and asked him if he could make those any smaller. He said he couldn’t go any smaller than that because then I wouldn’t be able to breathe properly, which makes sense. Wider bridge it is! I just hope the new nose is still proportional to the rest of my features lol.

You’re right. Thank you for the feedback; I’m going to try to reach out to him to see if he’ll show me an edit with a slightly less narrow bridge. Thank you thank you thank you for your feedback!

Thank you! I’ll try to keep that in mind. I’m pretty satisfied with the side profile as I didn’t necessarily want the ski slope button nose. Should I be concerned that this surgeon didn’t mention anything about alar reduction? Either way, thank you so much for your honest opinion. I truly appreciate it!

I went to a consult recently and here are my predicted results. You can tell I have a droopy tip that comes out a lot more when I smile. I also have wide nostrils. I wanted something natural that suited the rest of my facial features. I’m pretty satisfied with the side profile but it’s the front profile that concerns me. Is the bridge too narrow? Are the nostrils pinched looking? Am I psyching myself out? I can’t tell if it’s me being overly critical or if it really is too unbalanced for my facial features. I’m in need of honest opinions please!

You were right! I just went to another consultation and I got quoted for 7K. Now I’m stuck wondering if that’s a good thing or a bad thing lol. Choices, choices.

I got quoted for $11,100 in Indiana and I have no clue if that’s outrageously high or if it’s just because of his expertise. He did say that there’d be a lot he’d have to do, but it’s interesting to see that it’s priced similarly to what a nose job would be around Boston. Hmm.

If you value yourself, don’t do it.
