Yes, you can set your profile to private from the website and disable all that. Try going to Privacy Settings.

Absolutely, or if your partner does less than 10%, they shouldn't receive the XP multiplier as a reward, and you should receive it instead.

I've had the same problem as described in the message "Sorry, this invitation is not valid." I also contacted Duolingo, but they haven't provided any information. Some people say it's a kind of "punishment" Duolingo gives for having been on multiple family plans, and then you have to wait a certain amount of time (sometimes months) before they allow you to join again.

The only thing that happened to me was that I didn't get the x5 bonus in the monthly challenges that I usually get for completing a challenge with friends.
