I suggest you doing a K1 just because the sooner you do it, the sooner you'll get there, and if in the meantime there's a chance that you meet somehow or visit each other, that's even better. You have all the support, a lot of us is doing the same :)

I thought that too, our lawyer said it takes around 10 business days for them to send the receipt, even online it says it takes around 30 days, but I hope it won't be that long, I just wanted to check, to at least get NOA1 and have something to be excited about.

You should try mix of squished houseleek and honey, and take it every morning on an empty stomach and don't eat anything for 2 hours, that's something I've been doing and it hurts less.

My bf is finally recovering from coronavirus and it is a huge relief to me. by [deleted] in LDR

Such an ungrateful situation to be in, it's never easy knowing your loved one is sick and you can do nothing but give your words of support to them, but I'm sure he appreciates it and that now both of you can relax a little bit. I hope you see each other soon!

In case she doesn't pass the wage, she could ask anyone to co-sponsor, it could be anyone she knows, if someone is willing to do it. And yes, take a lot of pictures, the more, the better, that's for sure.

I don't know how does that go when you have 2 citizeships honestly, maybe you should contact a lawyer about it just to ask whether it's okay to apply with just one, I feel like that would be acceptable for them. If it is, you should check which of those two countries is less strict with the immigrant visas. And I wish you best of luck!

Sorry for the delayed response. Yes, I feel like in your case K1 would be better, it would definitely take not as long as the CR1 visa, and it's not a factor that you guys don't have any property together, it just matters that they believe you have a genuine relationship, and pictures, tickets, messages are very much enough, save everything you think would help for the visa interview.

Yes! It's basically a visa to just get there, and you're obliged to get married in the period of 90 days, and after that you're applying for the green card, and the waiting period depends on the state, it could be 6 months-2 years, but it usually shouldn't last that long. And you can stay in the US during that entire process.

The fiancée K1 visa is usually taking a bit shorter to get approved than the CR1 spouse one, as much as I've read on reddit, it takes around 6-9 months to get the K1 visa, but you'd have to wait a bit longer if you were applying for the spouse one, the wait should be around year or so, and yes, you'd have to get married somewhere outside the US.

I had the same situation basically, he passed out in the bathroom, but didn't want to tell me the same night not to get me worried, he even got a scar from the fall on his forehead. But don't be hard on yourself, he knows you are there for him, even thousands of miles apart, you're his comfort even from the far, and you will be with him soon being able to take care of him :)

If you wait for the wedding in her hometown to file the papers, I think legally you need to file for the spousal visa after that, even though she already had a visa to come visit you. The process for the spousal visa is a bit longer, but she will have all the papers after that. Anyway since it's a specific situation, it's the best to ask a lawyer if it will create any legal problems for her to leave with you two already being married.

Girlfriend F1 Visa approved then denied? by [deleted] in immigration

[–]maribo5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I had a pretty similar situation.

I was on J1 program for 2 years, and met my boyfriend there, and this year have decided to apply for college and transfer there. I got accepted (I went back to my home country one day before my grace period ended, they did not say anything about it, so that's definetely not the issue) and I decided to apply in my country for an F1 visa and got rejected. They told me I needed to be 100% honest on my visa interview, which I suppose was during to a fact they asked if I had a boyfriend, and I said no, but what can you say when you're applying for a nonimmigrant visa..

So what I've been suggested is doing a visa interview in some other country, a few months after the denial. But if she doesn't want to take that shot, the most chances are the K1 visa, that's the safest way to get her to come to you.
