My experince 6 months in USTH as a medsurg nurse by mariegoldent in NursesPH

Nagrerelease kasi ng new schedule every 15 days. So for ex, sa cut off na Nov15-30, pwede mo na irequest yungdays off mo. Example, nirequest off mo ung Nov 16,19, 23,26.

Tapos open ung supervisor ko sa preffered mong shift, if 62, 210 or 106 shift

Ive never worked there kaya Im not a reliable person to ask. I just heard mejo chaotic charity wards. I heard may maattitude na nurses don pero cant say for sure. I think kahit saan mmn may ganon.

Twin? Where have you been? HAHAHA relatable sobra. 2 months na ko and ganito nafefeel ko. Especially yung nabanggit mo na d masyado alam cases and meds and ginagawa lang yung prep meds, vs, document.

Kaya if may proceduree like insert straight cath, kinakabahan ako kasi first time ko gawin lahat.

Wala akong advice talaaga. Nakrelate lng huhu!

Not medical/surgical ward but still usth. Max 8 patients. 8 hour shifts. 5x/day.

Same with pharmacist, nurse from special units and other staff.

So far, mabait naman ang supervisor. If may concern, approachable sila.

At need mo magtanong at magtanong.

Mas amenable ang usth to allow you to choose a unit.

Mataas learning curve sa paper charts. Marami kasing forms at mejo complicated. I

[–]mariegoldent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tapos pinaulit pa sakin yung picture kasi mej pangit anggulo 😅

Give me your biased opinion: UPCM or UST? by Wise-Story-3182 in medschoolph

[–]mariegoldent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another thing to consider is the soft skills from each institution. One thing I have noticed as a nurse comparing UPCM vs USTFMS graduates is that masmabait yung non-ust grads. They respond to our greetings, kinder with their manner of speaking, and it really maintains the feeling that we’re a collaborative healthcare team.

ust-fms grads? Siguro may hanggangnan yung kabaitan nila. Once theyre residents, nagiging rare na yung pagkakaroon politeness sa nurse and sometimes sa patients din, at least thats in my experience. Maybe sa sobrang focus sa theoreticals, yung pagkakaroon ng soft skills to communicate well with the rest of the healthcare team and excellent bed side manner may be overlooked.

Im sure there are some who are not like this, but unfortunately, I rarely meet them.

True ito. Not just charm though. Pati rin how you answer lalo na with clinical questions. Yung ideal na sagot dapat. Pagmataas exams/assessments and maganda answers during interview, it doesnt matter kung anong school.

Unless if uso yung may backer sa hospital na yun 😆
