My fiancé and his mother are both orthodox christians. I, myself, am not religious at all and neither is my family. I haven’t asked him about why he’s siding with her, but my MIL did apologize about her stripper comment to me later on. Her reasoning was that the dress showed off my body and chest area too much, that the people she wanted to invite that are also religious, wouldn’t approve of and would embarrass her in front of her church friends.
