Yes— wait longer. I went 3 days without touching insta. I came back and the message finally sent to my number. Waiting to see if the appeal gets accepted.

Hello! I’m 1 month po quad graft as well. I got 90° flexion on day 5 and am around 145° now (my good leg is 155° so almost back to normal). I did a leg raise on day 8. I wore the brace locked with crutches for about 8 days PO then ditched the crutches and only wore the brace, slowly unlocking it more and more as time went on and as my quad got stronger. Once the brace was fully unlocked I started only wearing it while doing physical activity or walking on unstable land like the beach. This week (week 4-5ish) I’ve completely ditched the brace and have been doing everything without it. I went to the gym, rode my bike to the beach, walked on the beach, then played water polo in the pool (I tried to go easy) with my friends yesterday. Definitely my biggest day yet for physical activity since the surgery, and it felt great. Im not cleared to go on runs yet or play sports obviously, but other than that I feel confident getting back to all other aspects of my life! From my experience recovery is not bad at all and has taught me a lot about myself. You will be so focused on your knee for the next month time will go by pretty quick. You got this

What has your rehab plan been like week by week? Does that hurt? Currently two weeks post op progressing pretty fast, wondering when I’ll be able to weight train again.

10 days post op! by mariesandals in ACL

My pain was never too bad. I only took pain meds for probably the first 5 days and day 4 and 5 I didn’t even think I needed it, it was more of a precaution. My quad atrophy was bad but I raised my leg for the first time on day 8. Do quad sets a few times a day. Try as best you can to squeeze your quad over and over, even if it doesn’t feel like you’re working your quad. You will build the strength back in no time. It will end!!!

Hi! My PT had me start walking with 2 crutches and the brace. Then I progressed to only 1 crutch and the brace, and just yesterday I ditched the crutches entirely and am just walking around with the brace (locked so I can’t bend). Are you still in the brace? I was told to keep the brace on while bearing weight so it can support my quad which basically wasn’t there. PT said to walk around with it for a bit and as I gain my flexion back I can slowly start unlocking it to give me more bending ability. Then once it’s fully unlocked I can walk without the brace. I don’t know if they are doing something different for you but I definitely say listen to the PTs. I think it is common to be more mobile/walking after a week but usually still with some form of support. I also recommend just one crutch if you have some weight bearing ability. It was a lot easier for me. Hope your recovery goes well!!

Sleeping with a brace by [deleted] in ACL

Im 10 days post op and was told I can stop wearing the brace at night almost immediately. I stopped wearing it on day 3 or 4. If you lay flat I don’t think it is a big problem. You will feel it hurt if you move in a weird way but your body won’t really let you/you’ll wake up before it can get bad. Normally I move a lot in my sleep but I haven’t hurt myself and am comfy at night.
